  1. +1 just happy being out there amongst it all...the birds in the bag are a bonus.
  2. We'll done Terry top man. Or should it be butty ! Just getting back in to the sport but wouldn't mind tapping in to your crow bashing knowledge sometime in the future. Working on some perms of my own at the moment so see how that works out.
  3. Lol......because we're human. Evolution will be dependent on the environment and the creatures that can adapt to this will thrive. If we don't protect what we have now how can this opportunity happen. You lost me on the super sun.....I'd rather concentrate on the coming weeks not millenniums. P.s I take great pleasure in reducing these nest robbers. One nil to the songbirds !
  4. Thanks for the advice guys including the Pm's
  5. Welcome and enjoy. Pembs is a great place I've had many a good holiday there and it has some great bass spots.
  6. Got to agree with the above a friend of mine has one.......12mpg, I would do jap, Malaysian any day and I drive a LDR.
  7. I'm in the process of purchasing a new shotgun, can anyone recommend a good gun shop in South Wales ? And why ?
  8. I second falcon and blunderbuss, we all do our bit to protect and conserve what we already have and it would be a sad day when future generations loose what we take as granted. At the end of the day imagine a silent countryside, no songbirds or buzzards, kites, etc come on guys lets not bury our heads in the sand. I have known this happens for some time there was a programme some years ago with Iolo Williams on S4C (welsh channel), his main aim was to hit the Maltese where it hurts...tourism, that was the only way he could see they're government acting. Unfortunately when this goes global all shooters irrelevant of country are likely to feel some ripples from the usual media bul##hit, it just gives the uneducated layman another reason to ban what we all love doing.
  9. Impressive shot. Seen these having a go on the lambs especially if the lamb has been separated from mum, some even brazen enough to ride on their backs while others attack the head and face. Baa stards !!!
  10. Looks amazing, no comparison to the factory stock just makes you think why they didn't put a bit more effort in to the original stock.
  11. Good shooting sound like a great afternoon, and you saved some song birds from these nest robbers.
  12. Good pics. Remmy what make model do you have. Sounds like what I'm after.
  13. Great quality photo's, your lucky to get so close.
  14. Got to agree with you Evo if the end goal is to reduce the numbers then there shouldn't be a question about the time of year etc. The problem I have which I would have thought many on here do is that I need to ensure I have some sport all year round. By hitting them hard this time of the year I'm basically shooting myself in the foot for the rest of the year (pardon the pun). For me I'll be wetting some line and getting on the bass and and on the fly for the trout for a couple of months, then back on the perm in September. Mind you my lurcher picks up the odd one or two, when he's locked on the target there's not much stopping him.
  15. Wow fair play very impressive some quality FtCh, no wonder he looks so good and imagine he's a great shooting partner. What else could you ask for.
  16. Great looking dog, over the years we have had a cocker, springer and now go to Weim all totally different in character. What I would say is that the cocker dog we had would work deep cover all day. Great breed will get another one day, looks like yours comes from some great bloodlines.
  17. Cracking day out lads, I think this is a new venue this year. I have attended a few up in Gelli Aur but for some reason it has moved. Plenty to see , eat and drink and kids go free.
  18. What an amazing place to live and shoot......very envious looks amazing!!
  19. Just joined up and good to see lots of use full topics and like minded people willing to help. I live in Aberdare and been shooting for the last 20 years only less now due to family and work commitments. I'm a keen air gunner and know looking to upgrade my 12 gauge. Thinking of going with the Bettinsolli Diamond seems like a decent gun at a decent price. Does anyone have any experience of one ? Cheers
