    Tier 5

Its got to the point where the Govt hasn't got a clue how to deal with this. its out of control. Queens Hospital which is a hub hospital for pretty much everywhere. is closed, Whipps Cross the next biggest is also closed to new patients. Tier4,5,6,7,8,9 what does it matter its rife. There is no way of controlling it mainly because we won't do as we are told. And that is something the Govt, police. God has no real control over. A total lockdown would again slow its progress like it did before but a second full lockdown is not feasible, financially or ethically.
  2. The big tree in the middle I think I can make out the outline of a person just to the left of it.
  3. Apparently there are 6 extremely well camouflaged soldiers in this picture. So Far I think I have found 1. the other 5???
  4. Only ever got one thing bad from them and it was my fault. didn't know what I was buying just went by the fact that it looked nice. Bought this particular wood shank from them, cannot remember what it was called. But it was black with these white flecks, I thought that would make a lovely stick. As soon as I got it out the packaging and run me hand along it. I was inflicted with a handfull of tiny splinters. I sanded, sanded and sanded that shank, but could not stop it from giving you splinters. I varnished it and that made it even worse. I have no idea what this wood was but I ended up binning it. I didn't have the experience or know how of how to deal with it. Obviously it can be put right or he wouldn't sell it but it was beyond my merge expertise. Something beginning with "P" If I remember.
  5. Me to, serious blow that was when he closed up. Huge stocks of just about everything for stick making. Another thing I used to enjoy was getting his parcels open. Staples, a whole roll of Highland horn tape. More staples. The odd bit of welding.
  6. Or try English Handmade Knives, Chris who runs it normally has a good selection of Antler. I wonder what Martin from Highland Horn is up to at the moment? Hope he is enjoying retirement.
  7. Our Downstairs bathroom is the same, We have a radiator/ towel warmer but its always freezing in there this time of year. Sweltering in the summer though. And as for the toilet seat. That takes your breath away when you sit on it.
  8. Well touch wood I'm feeling ok now, sense of smell and taste better every day. Unfortunately this feeling of tiredness is still hanging around. I was ok yesterday plenty of energy but today I feel wiped out. Despite a good nights sleep it makes no difference.
  9. The experts on laser engraving sites say the same blue diode laser will not cut anything blue white or clear so just spray what you want to engrave black or red. Seems reasonable.
  10. I'm trying to find a sound recording app for my phone, If the laser cutter is making a noise then its above 20,000Hz. Beyond human hearing but not enough to annoy a dog. Just been reading up anything around or over 27,000Hz will cause a dog discomfort and achieve the reaction this machine is causing.
  11. Ignoring the terrible dog pun, If I can get it to work properly and I'm almost there it does seem a capable bit of kit. Its Bluetooth as well so you can load your image into it. Then your free to use your phone for something else. It remembers and carries on cutting. However on the downside its quite slow and the slightest knock or bump stops it from working. But it then does a scan and carries on where it left off even if the work piece is no longer in the same position. Its quite clever. Just a shame it has such an adverse effect on the furry one.
  12. I got a LaserPecker pro for Christmas and it took most of Yesterday to get my head round the app that you need to operate it and setting the thing up. Its a laser engraver if anyone dosn't know what a LaserPecker is. Ideal for my knife work, wood leather sheaths etc. It connects via a lead directly to your phone or PC. I have it on the PC indoors as it says on the instructions to keep it clear of dust. When I get a bigger shed with a clean area. I will have it in there, something that I have discovered about this tool I may need to do anyway. I'm not sure if its supposed to do this, nothing mentioned in the book that comes with it or that I have found on line. So not sure if mine is faulty. But when its operating and cutting it would appear to be emitting a high pitched noise that my dog can only hear. He goes mental, barking at it and growling. Nothing will shut him up. Even locking him outside he seems to still be able to hear it. Thats the only reason I can come up with why he reacts that way to it. unless there is something else about it he dosn't like. I obviusly can't hear anything it seems silent to me. As soon as you turn it off he stops barking, a bit of a whine and carries on as normal. Switch it back on and he's off again. Its a great bit of kit, apart from it won't engrave anything that is blue or white or clear. Can understand the white or clear but blue seems a bit odd. Any physics experts on here tell me if lasers do make a high pitch noise that only dogs can hear or is my unit faulty?
  13. So watched Alien Covenant as suggested in the hope that it would all make sense, where the aliens and facehuggers originated from and having watched it all the way through The conclusion I have reached is, Its all a robot called Dave's fault.
  14. I counted 9 hedge related puns in the original post did I miss any very good post by the way.
  15. Yeah rest up mate. I found treating it as a cold or flu helped little nip of brandy and a couple of paracetamols before you turn in at night to get a bit of a sweat on does feel like it takes the edge off. Speedy recovery for you both.
  16. Now thats what I like to see. proper handmade Christmas presents the way it was. Sadly though talent, skill and thought like that would be wasted on some of the obnoxious offspring out there nowadays For instance If I had the skill to make one of those and gave it to my 7 year old nephew he would throw a temper tantrum of biblical proportions. If it hasn't got a touch screen and you can play games on it, as far as he is concerned its rubbish, and will not hesitate to tell you that either. Last year he was very angry at the present his dad got him. He wanted a particular type of light saber, Paul my brother couldn't get one in time so had to get an alternative. When he opened it on Christmas day and saw it wasn't the right one he chucked a major fit, threw it across the living room screamed at his dad unfortunately for Thomas my Dad was there. punishment for being an ungrateful spoiled little brat was swift and merciless. My brother know's all to well and about that and so do I. At Christmas when we was young you liked every present you got or suffer the consequences.

    News report

Test came back positive. Day 9 now and had the NHS covid follow up team on the phone this morning. My place of work is now under investigation. She said I sound ok not out of breath talking to her on the phone or coughing so she has no concerns its probably a mild case, but still take care the virus can be quite unpredictable.

    News report

I was watching a news report Sky I think on this new variant of Covid 19 and what this professor said was proper scary. I wound it back to make sure I heard him right. He said we have learned a great deal about covid19 but what we didn't realise was how much its learning about us. Now that is stuff of horror films. A virus that learns and adapts. Its probably old news and most virus's do it but it was the way he said it, seriously freaked me out.
  21. They say the 5-10 day mark is the dodgy bit, when the virus can go either way. Like you mate. I would not want to catch this again.
  22. Test came back positive I'm in my 8th day now and feeling slightly better the one thing I am glad about that is easing up is the pain across my forehead and the eyestrain that was hell. Still got the upset stomach which I'm told is one of the many symptoms of this. And the cough but the general feeling of being unwell seems to be easing up. Not saying I'm out of the woods yet but from the first few days of showing symptoms to today I do feel a tad better. I have been treating it like a cold or flu. Making myself sweat at night,Brandy and a couple of Paracetamols. My son is ok now. his ten days is up and says he fells fine now. Cough still seems to be hanging around but his sense of smell and taste has returned. I can now smell strong smells such as vinegar and taste sweet and salty whereas last Wednesday I couldn't smell or taste anything. Its not a very nice thing to have as you are constantly wondering what next.
  23. To be honest most "Londoners" cleared out. Spoke to one of our drivers today and he said its a Ghost town up there. Regent St Oxford St The Kings Road. Fulham Chelsea everyone has disappeared.
  24. Not being able to get out we reluctantly ordered most of the Christmas food from Tesco's. Its just been delivered and to say I am seething is the understatement of the decade. The nibbles are ok, pork pies sausage rolls etc but the star of the event ie the "leg of lamb" is a joke. I have seen bigger chicken drumsticks. How that is going to go round Christmas dinner I don't know. Tesco's must have exclusive access to the worlds supply of pygmy lambs. By the time my wife has finished reducing it to a small piece of charcoal along with the pigs in blankets something that she always manages to destroy every year. On the plus side this covid has removed my sense of taste and smell so its not all bad. I think Christmas eve I will order a massive Indian takeaway always tastes better the next day as a plan B Merry Christmas by the way and lets hope 2021 is as far away from 2020 as it can possibly get.
