  1. Next bit of enlightenment delivered direct to your door... Read on .... Thread is titled HMR Bullets... Some of the main parts in the OP is "necks cracking and leaving the bullet in the barrel" along with "a problem with cases causing bullets to become left in the barrel." Hence the title of the thread. Bullets being the main word used. Please try to keep up Thankyou to everyone else for your valuable comments
  2. That'll do for me!!... Just gotta wait for the variation now then Cheers!
  3. I just, the other day, put in for a variation for a 17 HMR and today was talking to a chap I have known for only a short time but he was saying 1. He was struggling to get ammo in that caliber 2. That there have been issues with necks cracking and leaving the bullet in the barrel thus having the potential of making the next shot very dangerous. Now, Ive checked internet reviews and it seems that there is, or was, a problem with cases causing bullets to become left in the barrel. Was that just from some dodgy batches or is it still a current issue? If its still an issue Id probably change it to a hornet instead if the FEO will go for it.
  4. Join the NPPC, there are loads of places in your area.....
  5. On the store locator is says "not available in this area" and thats everywhere in the uk lol
  6. These are all the registered CPSA instructors in Lancashire. https://www.cpsa.co.uk/coaches?region=1&county=49&coachingLevel=&submit=Search I went to John Hall who spotted my bad habits straight away and corrected them.. The hardest bit is doing what youre told and not resorting back to the old ways lol If you use John he will probably take you to Blackpool but dont book with Blackpool direct because you'll get less time/clays. Mr JG Hall 07729 914400
  7. If youre struggling, get in tough with John Hall who will take you to blackpool and have a proper lesson... itll guarantee better results than wasting cartridges.. you might have picked up bad habits..
  8. Personally, I would be better off just eating them myself because I wouldn't even get a fiver on most of my days out lol Thankfully I see it as "its the day that counts" and "one cracking shot can make the day".. because my bags certainly dont cut the mustard haha!! Some guys on facebook groups travel a distance but want to pick up a freezer full at a time to make it worthwhile... Ive seen 80p a bird regularly with head and legs cut off
  9. I think my username is self explanatory
  10. Thats business for you isn't it... like choosing your field for shooting.. you cant 100% guarantee a thing (well, I cant anyway lol) Id say you're going to be safe for a good year or so before the £ starts to get stronger.. maybe 2-3 years.. who knows.
  11. And there is your niche... if you make them... they will come!!
  12. We're getting punished purely because the £ went to **** against the euro when brexit was voted for. Once we have some stability again and the £ gets some value back against the euro.. which it will.. prices "should" fall unless the companies want to profiteer.... That said, it may promote more uk manfacturing.. who knows.. Most of the stuff I deal in in my shop is bought in the euro and dollar so Ive seen massive price increases across the board and more than once since brexit. however, i do believe we will be stronger for it once the dust settles... make the most of it george and if you can undercut the giants then im sure youll be expanding fast (and not only from beer and pies either ) My local place will price match anyone else on a like for like basis so for clay carts I dont seem to do too badly at about £175/1000 for express power reds 27g However, my pigeon carts have gone up to about £212/1000 I believe for eley pigeon select.. I dont buy the most expensive because I have been known to be a **** shot on pigeons (although I do ok on clays funnily enough... go figure)
  13. A lot of companies profiteered from the Brexit vote and increased prices while they were still sat on stock that cost them less... Happened in almost every industry. Eventually, somebody will come along that wants to move things in numbers and make a name for themselves by working for less but moving more... then things will get cheaper again as companies compete with each other again... 14. Test ride a 1290 Superduke... my extremely tall (giant) mate can fit on one and so can little ole me
  15. What can I say apart from.... "I think you've killed all the northern pigeon single handedly.." I went out on a drilling last week and never saw more than 20 all day.. Today was even worse.. I probably saw about 6 and only managed to shoot one lol... Both times in North Yorkshire.... Is Andy Crow putting you on all these good spots?
  16. Cant say, dont know but...... From what I understand, these Lifep04 or Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries are about 30% of the weight and have more power than their equivalent lead acid counterpart .. downside is theyre bloody expensive in comparison.
  17. Oops sorry Aimee.. I just presumed it was Oscar.. my bad.. I think what also led me to believe it was oscar was the edit from the earlier post in this thread http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/351453-pigeon-magnet/?do=findComment&comment=3219319 It says Oscar edited it Good luck with the horses (money pit) lol and thanks for sorting me out with the replacements and new bits... Those magnet extension arms will be amazing Im sure!!
  18. I wonder if Trump will have any bricks spare? This is just a little bit ridiculous. Where will this lead us? "Get that wall back up and line it with landmines!!". Scotland goes independent, Wales does the same. Then counties think, "what a good idea" before you know it towns do the same. Form different laws and we spend the rest of our time pillaging the neighboring villages... Were going backwards lol..
  19. Sent you a PM on the 7th Oscar.
  20. The bag might have let me down but not Oscar @ A1!!! I merely mentioned that the bags zips broke quite early on and didnt even mention it to A1 because it was a just bag... and sh!t happens. Even though it was about £15 quid or so as I recall. Anyway, straight away, Oscar to the rescue... New bag in the post... Plus some screws that had broken from my pro flaps (which really are excellent btw for the magnet when you have no dead birds) and because they are super light the battery lasts longer!! Those Pro Flaps really do have some great movement from the wings and look more realistic than dead birds from the hide because the wing/s flap when its going around...I have almost shot them so many times out of reaction when I glimpse back in the magnets direction lol.. Keep up the good work A1... Ill keep coming back!
  21. I am going to have a go at it just in case and trial it on one set of deeks on one side against untreated ones on the other but the problem im finding is that is you search for UV paint lots of different types turn up in the searches.. Does anyone know which particular name type the correct paint goes by? photoluminescent, flourescent etc etc...
  22. A1 Decoys used to sell it but I dont think they do any more.. I fancy some myself to see if it helps
