  1. my "new" car is four years old and probably a third of the new cost maybe less, with extras i wouldn't have paid for.

the misses was looking at what she would get if looking and a basic golf around same age 4 years was dearer than mine, a lot depends on what badge is on the front.

Apologies for the delay in updating, been busy @ work 7 a couple of trips North for Salmon now the rain has come.

In a short word, no, the new "regime" have seemingly gone out of their way to alienate not just me but the other landowners in the area.

I had a chat with the keeper shortly after my original post explaining our position & asking him to justify his request (which for obvious reasons he could not), he became rude & abusive at which point I informed him that as no agreement was in place then he would not be shooting from our land as the previous lads had. This did not go down too well, not quite sure what he expected, & we parted company.

Last laugh goes to us though, in order to fit an extra drive in he has altered things around which results in most of the birds from the first flush flying back over the beaters into the safety & comfort of our land where they seem to be quite happy!!

Basically I get the impression he is just an a$$hole who does not have a clue how operate in the countryside.

Sounds like you should get a few mates round and when they do the new drive have a few shots yourselves, then wander off laughing.

Keep an eye on those silly tyre pressure indicating valves they have fitted. We have a similarly specced Focus estate of about that age and its had two valves replaced and another two needing to be done soon because they all seem to develop a leak which slowly lets the tyre down. On the plus side,,,it does let you know when its done it !!

The wonders of modern technology, thanks for the heads up.

  5. Finally its done, 2 litre Mondeo titanium X business edition 14 plate with full service history and 60,000 on the clock.

Only problem is the misses found it not me so I'll never hear the end of it.

Off the lakes next week so we'll see how she gets on.

    Thanks all for your input.

Why is it that the West has been idly watching and even aiding the Saudi's to kill and starve thousands/millions of people in Yemen but all of a sudden they've gone all moral like over the disappearance of a single Arab !?

    Oil, arms, dollars.

After the first 30 days, but within the first 6 months, you are legally obliged to allow the selling garage ONE attempt to rectify a fault that happens. If they fail to fix the fault, then you can reject the vehicle for a refund. HOWEVER, they can deduct a sum from the refund for your 'reasonable use' of the vehicle.

Is this on used cars? I would have expected you to get say 3 months warranty maybe and that's your lot.

    good to know.

  9. It is at least simple family entertainment which the BBC should put on, we can watch as a family from 4 to 42 without any problems, a bit of eye candy, some humor lighten up you might like it.

Does anyone know of an insurance provider that covers shoot cancellation insurance? I shall be booking a day's driven grouse shooting for October in the Yorkshire Dales to celebrate my 50th year on this planet, which is not cheap, so want to cover all possibilities.

I'm just having a read through and spotted this, is your big day still on then? If so i hope you get the weather you want.

At the risk of repeating myself ALWAYS put down, at least, the deposit using a Credit card - you have so much more protection.

According to Mrs mice, it has to be at least £100 section 99 or 95, she was preaching this at me today for this very reason.

  13. There are some good articles on line, the market is huge and really depends on what you do, I'm looking at the you move as its meant to be really good for swimming, you can wear it on your wrist or leg, but you get no display on it, it gives you data through the app.
