Thanks for replies, now sorted. Cheers
  2. Jeez. That's mental. And horribly expensive. I currently have two petrol cars (focus/galaxy) as we only really do short journeys, maybe 3 miles tops each way a few times a day at most. The last diesel we had (Citroen Grand Picasso) had a DPF failure, as it was barely ever driven in circumstances where it would re-gen. I'd never even heard of DPFs prior to the warning lights/permanent limp mode it went into - I'd had diesels before but always pre-regulation older ones. Snuck it into a dealer as a part exchange, no way I could sell it privately and cost prohibitive to replace the exhaust system. Annoying as the petrol mpg is garbage compared to diesel but i console myself that we don't do a huge mileage, maybe 12k between 2 cars. Various friends claim that it's never effected their use of diesels, but then they get new cars on HP or similar and change them every 2/3 years before DPFs would become gummed up with soot.
  3. Slip arrived this morning, great condition and very quick postage, cheers again.
  4. I’m going to hazard a guess from the footage I’ve seen, that the money was for drugs and not food or clothes. Maybe splitting hairs, and just my opinion.
  5. I’d take the slip, if you can post?

Cheers - if you could PM the number? Dont ask how I missed this. Have since bought a gun (well, 2!). Is it 1/4 and 1/2? Could still be interested.
  7. Good stuff, I check back on this thread every so often, hoping for an update...
  8. Any update, or even when in 2018 we are looking at, roughly?
  9. Thats a good price, for boots that are a different league from hitec etc mentioned earlier. Solid, hardwearing, waterproof etc etc.
  10. Bella, the beagle. A gun dog she is not... I’ve since met several other Beagles called Bella, including a pup round the corner.
  11. Hard to believe that The tonic wine is expensive enough to miss out! Is there not only one bar at Holyrood? Pretty sure it is well subsidised though, compared to buying a pint anywhere else in the city centre, where a mortgage is usually required... How would that work? The minimum pricing is clearly aimed at the alcoholics and neds that consume 3 litre bottle of super strength cider or similar. It may have some health effects, may not. If it reduces antisocial behaviour and costs them more money, while putting more in the government's pocket then bash on as far as I'm concerned. The people that consume the targeted drinks will cost society a disproportionate amount of cash as it is, due to their medical issues and problems they cause. A bit of a generalisation, but probably accurate. I can't imagine it will effect the vast majority of folk (and I'm all for a good deal on beer).
  12. Heh heh,he must have found that missing ‘0’ by now...
  13. The fact that it has taken me a while to find this thread under the 'my new content' option would seem to indicate things are picking up again, and/or folks are getting used to the new layout. Incidentally, surely most folk use the 'my new content' - there's lots of interesting topics I'd never have seen if I'd just been clicking through each sub forum of my more specific interests.
  14. Also interested in the Burgundy, just posting so you know there is demand! cheers

Cheers again all- familiar with borders gun room/braidwood, it's finding the half day to make the return trip for a browse that's the bind. And if you're at braidwood, you've got to shoot a few clays and have a bacon roll...

Thanks for all the useful replies. Does Edinburgh Rifles have a website/premises or is it a small set up?

Jeez. Didn't even know there was one in Haddington, I'm there all the time. Although a quick Google only brings up hardgate arms, with a half constructed website. Is that one and the same?
  18. Looking for a Lanber 12G, in or near Edinburgh preferably. Ideally 30", multi chokes, in good condition or better. Looking about the £200 mark (will pay more/less depending on condition), based on what I've seen on the interwebs for sale in other parts of the country. Not tied to the multi chokes or having a full set, happy with 1/4 & 1/2 or thereabouts. Also why is there a real lack of RFDs in Edinburgh/Mid/East Lothian?! cheers hod
  19. Only the older model! A mate bought some new ones, total garbage compared to the previous effort - bits snapped off and fell to pieces within weeks. A quick read of online reviews seems to confirm this, sadly.
  20. Quite this. I'd be really surprised if my force would agree to a handgun for humane destruction, maybe if you were a professional, but otherwise probably not. I suppose it depends on how necessary it is deemed. But when even on this thread (amongst firearms owners) there's several post offering alternatives, I can see why Police would not fall over themselves to allow handguns for humane destruction.
  21. I'm in Scotland (Midlothian, just outside Edinburgh). Almost all FEOs are actual officers, some twisted logic meant Police Scotland sacked almost all the civilian FEOs to save money (no, me neither). I got a letter specifically stating any new cabinet had to be checked by an FEO prior to use. Frustratingly there seems to be a fair delay between notification and someone coming out - for what is realistically a 30 second job of looking at my cabinet and trying to pull it off the wall. I've no objection to the check, in fact I'm all for it, although it is yet another thing for the Police to do - and accordingly it either takes them a while or they don't do it. I'm well aware not everyone will be as conscientious or sensible as most of the cert holders I know are.
