Private jet charter brokerage, I’ve worked in various roles in aviation for nearly 10 years. I’ve done private brokerage as a bit of a side gig for a few years for just one “client”. It pays for a decent holiday and a bit more. I’m putting some more time into it and I’m hoping to get a few more people on board. Maybe it will pay off maybe it won’t but I will never know unless I give it a go. My 4 days off give me time to put into it which is lucky.

True, if it was easy it would be boring. I have a magnet on the way which I hope will make a difference.

If you want to read a report of a 100+ bag day you will be sorely disappointed, this will not be that report. I got on to the farm about 0930 where there was a decent breeze which was due to pick up in the afternoon. I was told there was some birds knocking around so set out to find them. They were nowhere to be seen....... I found a small group in a field, maybe around 20 and set up. Nothing for over an hour....... I left the kit set up and had a drive around to see where they had gone. I found a larger number in a further field cleared them off and went back to the hide. Still nothing, feeling thoroughly disheartened I packed up and went in search of them again. Found them in a stubble field dropping down from some woods so looked promising. Trekked across a couple of fields with all the kit realising when I got over there I could of driven to the other side of the dyke. Set up again, at this point the wind was really blowing and with little hedge cover the hide was struggling. Nothing for another hour with no sign of them returning so called it a day. I also tried throwing my bag of decoys and nets over the dyke at which point a gust of wind blew it right back at me and into the dyke which summed up the day nicely. 0 shots so 0 birds. Still better than been indoors.

I work shifts 4 on 4 off days with just over an hour commute either side. So I’m up at 05:15 and walk back in the door about 20:15. While on shift it is **** but the days off are good. I’m giving a go at starting a business, with a baby on the way I want to spend more time at home, I’m not looking to make millions, just match what I earn now. Could you give starting a business of some sort a go?

Flybe were always going to go under, it was just a matter of time.

That night to a “day off” to a day would be a killer. You’re working until 9:15 in to your day off. After 15.5 hours at work are you going to enjoy that day off?

I used to work nights on a 2 days 2 nights 4 off pattern. 12 hours 7-7 so 7am-7pm on the days and 7pm-7am the nights. It was fine at the start but after about 10 years enough was enough. My sleep pattern still hasn’t recovered a couple of years on but I think it’s slowly getting there. Work 4 on 4 off all days now 7-7 still. Much better only have to use 4 days leave to get 12 off. None of the night shift eating into your first day off. Out of curiosity what industry is the job in?

My mother has had completely the opposite experience. 80p a month or something daft they’ve just been out to replace a seized internal stop tap, fix an external small underground leak and are coming out today to replace some very old pipe fittings that are past it.

Depends which refrigerant is needed the cheaper type is about £40 to do.
