  1. This is not the first time that I've heard of this. How the hell in this day and age of computerised records can they not know what is out there or who has got what. I remember that down on the military ranges that after the police had been down there shooting that there were a lot of live rounds scattered around on the ground at the firing point and that somehow when one outfit left the firing range two handguns had been left on the vehicles and as they drove off the guns fell off onto the road and were recovered by members of the public. Absolute shambles. AND these are the people who are operating the laws.
  2. Ps to above post. How can it be a situation where the plod are so totally inept. Applications not processed. Variations taking months. New applications not processed. Feo's coming out with any old statement that takes their fancy. Applicants having to pay for meaningless doctors certificates. Where is basic challenging any of this. Basic should publish how they are challenging this. Plod is judge, jury and executioner in this. It wrong and soon they won't be any shooters for basic to say they represent. P45 time. And I don't care if some don't like what I write. It's the truth and you know it is.
  3. Most of the firearms atrocities have occured becase plod didn't remove firearms from people who plod had been warned about. I belong to a rifle club and we had a bloke turn up who was a dangerous person. In short he was a nutter. A potentially dangerous violent nutter who wanted to get a ticket to obtain firearms. In his head he planned to become an rfd in order to access firearms. Club officials notified plod about this situation. The club stalled this blokes club application and he then attempted to join another club . We know some members of that club and notified them about our concerns. They came to the same conclusion as we had and also notified plod.!!! What did plod do.? They issued matey with a certificate. .!! After plod issued Matey with a certificate he never went back to the club and disappeared from view. In my opinion he should never have been allowed anywhere near any sort of weapon. Or pushbike. Basics attempt is as always low power and a long way behind the curve. I really care. It makes me so angry. How can it be that we are charged a fee and then suddenly we have to pay for a doctor who doesn't even know who we are to certify that we aren't a risk. Madness. Basic is just not fit for purpose. Total waste of time.
  4. Apparently a sausage ... burger manufacture in Yorkshire had stopped making most of these products because the "public isn't ready ". Does this surprise me... Nahh... The only time that I was ISSUED QUORN. It went in the bin..!! there is no way that it would be issued to the spaniel. It was supposed to be a burger but it was cross between tough corrugated cardboard and compressed sawdust. SHE THOUGHT THAT I WOULD LIKE IT AND THAT IT WOULD BE A CHANGE. .! The burger thing went in the bin. Yuk . AND... they recon that it's not the product, IT'S THE PRICE! !. So that means that meat products are cheaper than veg ones. Also the sales have dropped by a half.!
  5. It's all a bit of a guessing game with this one because they shoot very well and when used in the Beretta you would never know anything was different. I have used a vernier and checked the primer pocket diameters and they appear to have a couple of thou tension so they shouldn't blow out. I have saved the mangled primer that was found inside of the action but because it was mangled it doesn't contribute any evidence. The bloke who's gun and cartridge they are isn't someone who would consider contacting a manufacturer about these because basically even though there are /were problems they still went bang and broke the clays very well. we don't score and as previously written we don't have just one shooter shooting one clay at a time. it is a sort od flurry of clays and shooting. I think that he shot the slab off on that day. If the gun played up another day with some other slab brand then he might clean the action out or more likely get rid of the gun. He has loads of other guns to shoot so it doesn't really matter. It was so unusual to have this happen. Ps. when I next communicate with him I will enquire if he has given it a bit of a clean. In the meantime I brought the feed sack of cases home to go through for certain ones for reloading so I'll do a bit more measuring of primers and pockets when I get the time.
  6. They'll definitely need SPECIALISTS to examine and identify what sort of shotgun cartridges they are. Oh I see plod isn't sure that they are shotgun cartridges ... they could be tubes of POLO MINTS ...... OR.......HEAVEN FORBID. ...... FRUIT PASTILES......PATHETIC ISNT IT.
  7. Hahaha. ... I am CONSIDERABLY TALLER THAN YOW. 😁😂😃 WHAT A TOTAL TWONK.
  8. The strange thing in all of this is that the cartridges go bang, they kill the clay AND most of the time they eject quite happily. They were also fired in a Beretta with no problems or issues at all. no external signs of difference. they all came from same slab. The gun is as clean as a whistle so crud build up is a small consideration at present. The problem with diagnosing this is that it isn't a consistent fault and the only time that you know that something odd has happened is when you pull the trigger and nothing happens. the speed of the action is such that you'd never see what happened. when the cartridge jam is cleared the gun may shoot a couple of boxes before the next issue. He will do a full strip (including taking the bolt apart) and a good clean of all parts of carbon and crud! and see what is found .... If anything. We only shoot for fun so there is no pull or scoring and we have multiple electric traps so there may be a lot of clays in the air at any time with several guns shooting these at the same time. we shoot until either no ammo left, no clays left or the guns are so hot you can't hold them. good fun. The bloke wouldn't bother because the cartridge are all going bang and killing the clays. the vast majority work ok.. we don't bother shooting competition and don't score. the only inconvenience is the stoppage. if the cartridges were that bad he'd probably just break them down. He bought a slab from auction so no shop to return to. Note.. position of blown primer which has jammed action. That is the spent fired case which suggests that the primer has been blown out the back, then rebounded to that position with an amount of force BEFORE the case has had time /travel to be ejected.
  9. It's a really odd situation. The cartridges are great and the gun shot loads of them spraying the ejected cases all over the place. It isn't my gun but it shot well and strangely enough it was only some cartridges that did this. One primer that was blown out got into the bolt action area and jammed the whole lot solid. We had to strip the for end, the barell, the gas piston. The bolt was stuck firmly so I manualy jerked the action bar and suddenly a mangled primer fell out off the action. Reassembled it shot ok and ejected ok. I took a picture which shows a primer on top of the semi ejected case jammed between the case and the top of the action. Because this happens at super high spèd there is no way of knowing quite what is happening.
  10. We were having an informal clay shoot and a mate was using 2x28 gauges. 1 was a Beretta O/U AND the other was an auto. When using the auto, the primers were dislodging from the case and generally jamming between the spent case and the top of the action. In one case we had to remove the barrel, the gas piston and linkage. A lot of wiggling and tapping of the action to get the mangled primer out of the action. Shooting recontinued. Never ever seen or heard of this ones. Bornagi cartridges.
  11. There is no right or wrong with cartridges. If they go bang and the lead is put on the target the load will do the job. Get a light 12 and shoot light loads. A lot, lot cheaper. And a better shot column pattern.
  12. Handy if you were near by. It's always a million miles away up north from here.
  13. Imagine the days in the field that this gun has seen. The group's of friends that have been out shooting on driven days. Even now it is still a tool that was designed to do a job and given the circumstances if the lead is put on the target it would still do that job.
  14. I need another cabinet. Although plod said that I'd already got far too many. I told him that you cant have too many. Guns.
  15. Details.? What they like.? How much.? Edit.... I know that you are very reasonable with price. AND I know that everyone wants to get the best price for their item BUT the vast majority of items that ordinary PRIVATE SELLERS put up for sale on the forums are unrealistic regarding General market values. This is shown by the amount of items for sale ---- item views and the zero amount of bids on the items. I've got a 4 that I shoot well with and it has got fair/ good wood, but the action / metalwork is rough and I'd like to be able to combine a bitzer that I could still shoot with.
  16. Now I'm not stupid but after I've read that, I ain't got a clue what your on about or asking.
  17. Thanks P. Arrived quickly and a Really nice item. As new condition. Top grade.
  18. Don't agree, Those poor householders that got burnt out last year would disagree with you. It might have given people half an hour to get stuff like important paperwork out that was burn't to ashes. It doesn't matter what the emergency is or when the last mammoth went on the rampage but if you're out and about and a lion has escaped a warning alert might be useful to you. if you think that the government holds you as such a high threat level that you need monitoring as to whether you are at home or gone to Tesco or whether you shop at Morisons or Waitrose or the corner shop then you are elevating your importance. It isn't some great government conspiracy to find out whose cornflakes you buy. They don't give a monkeys .. unless you start publishing documents with certain words such as Bo*b or communicating with individuals that are known.
  19. Anyone know what they intend to do about the fact that there were a lot of random things. Some got the msg early, some got it late and some like the Mrs & I Didn't get it at all. The warning is important because when there was that Tsunami in Japan Many Many lives could have been saved if a warning could have been sounded 20 mins earlier to allow people the time to get to higher ground, like the poor blighters working out in fields or driving in cars. If it saved one life it would have been worth it. And as for the disbeliever conspiracy crowd you must be rogues & up to some sort of mischief that needs checking out.
  20. I might have known it. Neither my wife or I got the warning.!!! Both of us are with Vodafone. She's got a new iphone and Ive got a Samsung. Very disapointed that we weren't selected to be warned of impending doom.
  21. Well people, the day is neigh. The GUBERNMENT alarm is coming. 3 pm.!! Those disbelievers have only got about an hour and a half to get the tin foil hat fashioned, to get any electrical transmission eqpt wrapped up and to dig a big hole in the garden to stop the GUBERMENT access. anyone not complying will be added to a list. AND your name WILL be at the top of the list.!! you'll be Part of the one in ten.!! The list WILL include, anyone spending cash, owning a cat, anyone doing cash jobs,(tax dodgers.) Pipe smokers and anyone wearing a val Doonican Christmas jumper. you're ALL GOING TO DIE.!! At some stage anyway.
  22. The person may well be a thick Item... But ...PLANK !!.... isn't that demeaning to Woden items.? Discrimination or what. Don't forget the shoe incident. 🤣🤣🤣 How humiliating. and just to think that my granddaughter was embarrassed when the auto passport reader didn't read her passport first time at Gatwick.
  23. How many times is it that bloke thought that they were indispensable to the company and yet the company carried in like a ship going on its way. How many times is it that a newbroom manager who hasn't got a clue comes in and blokes who knew the score suddenly decided to finish up taking their knowledge and skills with them. This is happening now as so many have had an interruption to their working life due to covid. Only the other week the News reporter was asking a bloke out on the golf course what the government could do to get blokes like him back to work.? His reply was nothing. About 6 months after I retired my old workplace collapsed and the remaining staff were all made redundant. Nothing to do with my retirement. . Blamed on covid etc. Did I give a monkeys. Naah.. not my problem. See yah ole mates. They contacted me for assistance but I wasn't available. Shame. Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
