LeeinVA
I have hunted all my life but this is the first dog i ever had. A beautiful black lad.. She was my hunting buddy, and my best friend, we hunted, we fished, we went hiking.. I would lay on the floor in front of the fire place and snuggle my girl. Alas, all things come to an end.. She was 16 and had a damn good life!! about an hour ago i said my goodbye's as she drifted off to sleep.. Cancer and senility had moved in, and she could no longer control certain functions. Dignity was the deciding factor, and though she had lost most of her mind she looked mortified when she did have an accident. I miss my dog and now i know first hand what it is to feel what many of y'all already have..

ForeignGadger
We all forget when they're new, that we will see them out (usually). I hate digging that hole, but in some ways, it completes the cycle. Take comfort that she had a great life, and the pleasure given was mutual. We all mourn a good dog, but that's life. Get a replacement and start again. You will give (and receive) pleasure once more..... Thoughts with you. FG
