Early end to the season

Well that's the end of my season and shooting in general for a few months.

One christmas day goose, one sharp carving knife, two greasy hands, two severed tendons and a trip to the operating theatre i'm without the use of my right hand for 3 months.

no pigeon decoying, no clay busting and having to pass on two days shooting i'd lined up over the festive period. at least i have got an excuse for not driving tonight.

Careful what you do with those knives everyone. have a good new year.

That sounds nasty! Sorry to hear you can't get out shooting for three months, that's harsh! Couldn't you still get out with a mate? You may not get to shoot but at least you'll be out for the day and it can be just as good an experience watching someone else have a good day.

Worst of all you got blood on the Goose! :good:

cheers chaps

i actually had the op on tuesday and was released yesterday evening.

compared to some of the people in there who had taken some nasty falls on the ice i got off pretty lightly - just a pain i can't hold a shotgun. especially when my mates are off on a walked up day that i was supposed to attend.

don't worry there was no blood on the dinner just my jeans, the kitchen floor and the sink. very tasty it was too (the goose that is). :)

Hi Mate

Dont give up I had major double surgery on my shoulder 1st July, my arm was completely imobilised by special brace, I learnt to shoot one armed, 410 to begin with then I went to using light weight auto 12g, I had the missus carry all my gear and help me set up, I learnt to load it one handed by leaning it against me, awkward but I managed ok I got some good bags, :good:

Never say never mate!!! you can do it :)

Alan

I had torn tendons from my bicep, ruptured others, all had to be stitched back together plus more damage to the joint, bone removed and more stuff!!

That's what ingenuity, motivation and an understanding wife can do. Hope you are getting better now. unfortunately it's my right hand so just need to learn how to shoot leftie!

it might be a benefit in solving my left eye dominance.
