pavman
thats a very good sized CWD well done, was it local? yep on my permission... they where safe till they started on farmers wifes garden, shot it from the sticks in front on the woods, my eldest lad (in pic) was helping with binos range finder and sticks etc.... we had a walk round prior to lamping Fox later its also a good way to test how soft some of the marshes are as they are very wet just now and some need to be kept off till they dry a bit or you sink up to the gunnles...... we still have some cover crop between woods and marsh and Highlander and I stalked some Munty a few weeks back but could not get a shot.. they tend to mill about just in the cover of the woods until dark and then of course its no go... this Doe came out just as light was fading (the lad picked it out) some nice meat in the freezer and Mrs P made a nice pud with the trimmings and the suet fat from the animal.... not sure what weight it would go but It was a big one in very good condition.....
