webber
I've never kept ferrets, but I know enough not to keep male and female together unless you want them to breed. Keeping siblings together is even worse. Maybe you should consider a name change, as you are clearly no expert. I predict that you can expect a flaming from other members when they learn of your stupidity. webber

Fatcatsplat
Well if she is pregnant, i would suggest that you let her have her pregnancy and then dispose of the kits once they are born. Daft mistake, but you won't do it again.

scolopax
Get it to the vets, they can give a bitch a jab if she gets caught so maybe they can do the same for your Jill.

Billy.
Did you just think they'd have a tea party together? If you put a male and female together and you don't want more ferrets you're asking for trouble.
SSS
The vets is a waste of time, the damage is done. Let her have the kits and dispose of them the moment you find them. How old are you, obviously not old enough to know better, and if you are only a young lad, I suspect your parents won't be very happy wirth you killing the kits. Live and learn and don't make these daft mistakes again!

Ferret Master
So have you separated them yet? And what are you going to do now? FM P.S. The shooting opportunities and permission section probably isn't the best place for such a question. soontjen
you might aswell let her have them and see how it goes if they are diformed she'll know and might dispose of them herself or push them aside .,, after she's had them decide then . i've never bred this close with anything and would'nt but people used to and may well still do it with dog's . pigeon's ..cat's allsort's of thing's to get a certain type or size .. don't worry m8 it's a genuine mistake . they are after all animal's .......if they were in the wild they would breed with anything ..and you don't see diformed fox's or rabbit's running about do you .t.......don't let it do your head in ... don't give it a second thought just wait till they are born they might be ok ?? hope this help's . atb Edited March 14, 2010 by soontjen
Dekers
Oh dear, we all have to start somewhere but a bit of research work would perhaps of been useful, I don't keep the stinkers but have a couple of pals who do that I call on perhaps two or three times a year, to help out at odd jobs, and even I know your sleeping facilities were not clever! Cranfield
You don't mention how long they were together, if it was a very short time (days), then I suggest you get a Vet's opinion on whether an injection would work. If it is too late, then I would agree that you should let her have the litter and euthanise them all. Even though they may appear normal, there is every chance they may have fits and other problems. I would also not use that jill to breed from again.

soontjen
so you think that is ok get a grip and even if they were ok you could never cross them this is how ferret lines are ruined big time oh and its not just a wee mistake it is a VERY BIG MISTAKE hitchi . get a grip ?? i think it's you who need's to get a grip ..... look back through pedigree;s there are thousand's and thousand's of inbred or line bred animal's bird's , dog's, cat's . horses . greyhound's , cow's , pig's , sheep , some time's as to be done to save a certain specie's ..., come out of the stone age .... i never said it's was ok to inbreed and i would never do it myself read my post properly ... the lad needed advice.... but nice to have met the man who's never made a mistake though hitchi ?? how do you do it ? you even say yourself this is how ferret line's are reuined . how do you know ?? to the lad who's worried don't give it a second thought m8 people inbreed with all sort's of animal's .. as for breeding from her in the future you'll have no problem's { as long as it's with an unrelated hob} if your still worried m8 phone your local vet they will explain everthing and put your mind at rest ..
