mick54dog
got out again today on the estate persuing the resident nut nibblers. managed the best days total of the year so far......34. please note. the pic only shows 30 dead sqizzers.....4 of the victims were very young, and i didnt want to upset or offend anyone, so i chose not to photograph them. njc110381
Good effort! Does your land join other woodland or have you only just started shooting there? I've been on a patch for about a year now and at the start numbers like that were possible. Now I'm lucky if I see one!

mick54dog
Good effort! Does your land join other woodland or have you only just started shooting there? I've been on a patch for about a year now and at the start numbers like that were possible. Now I'm lucky if I see one! hi, i have been shooting squirrels on this land for three years, but can only get on to it for 5/6 weeks a year. i do each block of woodland systematically, and the numbers i get on each visit depends largely on the success that the keepers have with their trapping, which is carried out 24/7 the area i have covers over 11000 acres, so as you can imagine there s plenty to go at. i havnt seen any of the black squirrels on this land....yet the cartridges i use are supplied by the estate, sometimes i am given premium game loads in 5 or 6 shot size, on other occassions im given clay loads in 7.5 shot size, which i think do a better job. thanks for the interest lads. atb, mick
