webber
Gents Its all been said really. I didn't post yesterday, I was simply too knackered when I arrived home. At least one Team Norgas member returned a respectable score of 84, and Dave TG scored at the other end of the specrum; so much for "webber ringers" but it was good to observe the Southerners getting their knickers in a twist for a few days prior to the event. There was 11 in our squad, I enjoyed some excellent company and witnessed some good shooting. Hodnet did PW proud, as did the members who organised the event, a big thankyou to all. Good Ground; Good Cause; Good Shooting; Good Company; Good Raffle; and a Good Soaking. Does it get any better? webber
Evil Elvis
- Beating Evil Elvis on the day after all his waffle.... Priceless!!! What waffle? and can you do it when i havent been ill all week? My average scores are usually 75-80% I was cold wet, tired and miserable, I had had far too much alcohol to drink and no where near enough sleep................... So if that is beating me..........revel while you can.....................................tomorrow is another day!!!!!
Mungler
Out of interest those in the high 80's plus Which stands did you drop shots on? Of the 15 I dropped, I dropped 11 on the first 3 stands, then just odd singles. Our squad started up the hill with the sim pair of high fast driven, the next stand was the 2 left to right crossers over the tree tops at distance and the third stand was the the orange out on the right with the fast swing round to get the incoming and crossing fast orange. I think it was just the shock of the weather and fear that the rest of the course was going to be like the first 3 stands if not worse. Cracking course. Just wished we had started and warmed up on something easier.
MC
Sounds like you lot had a great day out! Shame I couldn't be there to bring the Southern score up a bit, but there was no way that I could make it. Is next year's one going to be down south then? no The organiser for next year has just stepped forward, nice one B

Son Of Potter
Out of interest those in the high 80's plus Which stands did you drop shots on? Pretty much the same as mungler, Our stand started on the low driven, where u walked under the netting, dropped one there, next two stands straight, then there was three in a row where is dropped 8, then just daft odd ones here n there, we finished on the rabbit stand and my last rabbit jumped as i pulled the trigger!! Great shoot, I always enjoy shooting Hodnet!!
Mr Potter
Out of interest those in the high 80's plus Which stands did you drop shots on? Nearly all of them!!! I shot an 86 and only straightened 2 stands, even the ref was saying "another 7" by the end My worst stand was the one with a high left to right quartering crosser with a very low left to right (white) crosser on report, I dropped three on that stand. The two I straightened were the two to the right of the clubhouse (if you were standing on the veranda looking out). Mr Potter

Mr Potter Mr potter dropping 3 ain't bad, I managed to blank that stand, over led the high bird and failed to get under the white bird , however the next stand with the left orange crosser and the dtl bird was a straight, and the overhead in the netted area was straight too dropped all but one on the rabbit stand , and yet shot rabbit and a quatering away on report today and hit 9/
beretta
same as mungler more or less. first 3/4 stands up the top then the odd one here and there.
MJN
I was shooting with Claybuster, Paulos, 100milesaway, and the others who I did not see the name badges. They all shot very well despite the god awful weather. As for me my will to live ebbed after the first 6 stands , to say I was not a happy chappie was an understatment. still I straighted the gimme stand by the lodge. both our guns the foreends have swollen with the moisture but a wipe down with the napier field patch should keep the metal bits okay until the sun comes out and bakes the wood back into shape. My shooting waistcoat is nearly dry, my shoes not, my hat just about I think. Apart from that I enjoyed myself, and thanks to the northern crowd for not only, not ribbing me on my poor show, but also trying to give me some pointers. M. BLAZE33
Me too, first 3 stands were the worst(the ones at the top) then odd 1 or 2 here and there. 81 final score not bad considering only shot clays 6 times in last 2 years. Shooting with a great bunch of guys in my squad spurred me on... thanks chaps, and well shot.
MC
So who were the Team Norgas ringers then? Because apart from 10WM I recognise all the other names in the top ten North shots so they didn't help much did they?

Snap the 3 stands for me was 5, 6 ,5 then the odd one's and two's, but to be fair i always seem to have Cat standing behind me when i was shooting or it felt like it

MM
Yeah but you are aren't you cheeky sod, im only 23  Well, i dropped crossers, wingers, ringers, *******, plumbers and joiners. I have no idea what most of the birds are called apart from rabbits. I shot some, and missed others. Got loads of help (cheers Maglad) and was really pleased to have hit 37. Whoever missed whatever, its not really important. For once, it realy was the taking part that counted.

SXPhil
I was in the group of 11 and blanked out on the first 2 high left to right crosses After that I enjoyed the stands finishing on the simultaneous pair from the top of the Hill which I seem to like Loved the Rabbit Interesting to hear where people dropped shots
McF
Well we did bring it up with us, It was only fair to let you take it home  :thanks: Now come on boys dont spit your dummys out. Great day thanks to the organisers. What made it for me was when someones raffel ticket was drawn and the winner said "let that young lad have it", quick as a flash he replied, "naah dont want it thanks mate", obviously because there was very little left on the table of prizes. Heres to next year. Mcf
