Doc Holliday
What are you lot likeflying fun. Its the food they dished up that scares me. Last time I was on the plane I forgot too lock the loo door. Boy was that a long walk back too my seat . I had too keep telling myself I would never see these people again so it did not matter what they saw . Ah ha! So that was YOU then Mrs Sweepy. Well, what can I say... I have flown and will fly again, but I have no liking for it. I love the accelaration on the runway and cruising along. I don't like the descent. Flying doesn't scare me - coming down prematurely does. You took the words out of my mouth. The thing is I've talked myself into this thing about planes crashing and it does scare the b'jesus out of me when I think about it. The annoying thing is I KNOW it is safe. I've been meaning to get myself some lessons in an Ikarus C42 Ultralight down at clipgate farm near Canterbury. A woman does lessons down there. Went up in her AX3 cyclone for a 30 minute flight when my mate was learning to fly. Positively **** myself when she handed me control. I think I lasted a few minutes before handing it back to her. Raja Clavata
OK - how many aborted take-offs does one accept before kicking up a fuss and getting yourself and luggage thrown off the plane? I've also thought two strikes and I'd be out but I would be cacking it on the second attempt. What do the CAA guidelines state? I recall that the Iberian plane which crashed on take-off in Madrid a few years ago was on it's third attempt.
agusta
I've just been sent these (today's A380 engine failure) - looks like an uncontained engine failure which isn't good, they were very lucky it didn't puncture the fuel tank which is on the other side of the spar. Laird Lugton
Engineers will have that fixed in a jiffy, bit of speed tape and it'll be as good as new
docholiday
I watch pilots landing and doing stuff on you tube, can someone tell me what the loud fast clicking sound is in the cockpit? heard on approach it seems, and before taking off. That will be a 737 with the flaps going down, there is a trim wheel which is very nasty whizzing round and you get the clicks doc
