Catamong
Still in A class for sporting but no longer a member My goodness, how disgraceful..!! Just make sure you don't "Do a Mung" by turning up at the Essex Masters and saying you're an U/C muppet, (hoping to win some dosh Essex style), 'cos a CPSA classification is a bit like points on your licence, they stay there for a long time. Cat. Oh do change the record Cat, you must be getting bored by yourself by now... If you took the trouble to discuss it either with the scary ladies on the desk or anyone else that is involved with the Essex Masters, if you leave the CPSA and don't have a classification then *you don't have a CPSA classification*. As we well know, the Essex Masters is the best run and best subscribed shoot in England and it has absolutely sweet FA to do with the shambles and poor excuse for a glorified spreadsheet that is the CPSA. Just out of interest, which CPSA majors have you shot, in order to draw a comparison?
Mungler
Did a couple at High Lodge and Lakenheath and a couple at Southdown. Indeed, I have had the pleasure of shooting Southdown a couple of times with Cat and once for some 200 birder the name of which I know not. That was a couple of years ago now as obviously I haven't been foolish enough to renew my CPSA subscription for a number of years now. Mind you, that didn't affect my Hodnet score.... Chard
I have to admit that the Masters is pretty special. It seems to be one of those where you just know it will all go OK and you won't get mucked abart. There are CPSA comps that go off very well too, but they certainly don't have the monopoly on organisational skills. Looking forward to the Maestros again this year Are we having a booking fred again?

Well shot at Hodnet, you did well - and it clearly means a lot to you! I wonder whether the Essex Masters use any CPSA rules, classifications, refs or safety officers... As for: This guy left, yet still has his CLASSIFICATION Yes, it's sandbagging in it's most blatant form, a cynical attempt to deprive a genuine newbie of some hard earned winnings. Rest assured it will not go un-noticed by Rose Dyson and family on the entries desk, (I'm told they will be tipped off :o ). Once an "A" class shooter, always an "A" class shooter, that's the rule, long may it continue. Azzurri
ill try that myself next year then It happened when i tried a new gun out a few years ago,i've never shot a regisered skeet since. I certainly wouldn't want to 'pinch' any prizemoney off anyone That's a problem with the system i suppose Azzurri.
Mr Potter
It happened when i tried a new gun out a few years ago,i've never shot a regisered skeet since. I certainly wouldn't want to 'pinch' any prizemoney off anyone That's a problem with the system i suppose Azzurri. Agree with that Azzurri and it works both ways, the first FITASC comp I entered some 15 years ago I must have either shot out of my skin or they had forgotten to put the springs on the traps anyhoo shot an 83 or thereabouts and as it was the only FITASC I had shot I was in A class (this was at Kelbrook SS which used to hold some first class FITASC comps). So I had the reverse situation, A class for the harder discipline and I was either B or even C in English Sporting! Could I get out of A class, could I hell as like, you have to shoot a minimum of 300 targets birds to move down a class and even in the years that I shot that number the ground (Kelbrook again) forgot to submit the scores so I stayed in the top class for six or seven years when I finally dropped to B and even then I have only ever been placed (jnt 1st) in that class. So my theory is that for everyone who is artificially placed in a lower class there is some poor sod languishing in a higher class than they warrant. Mr Potter This would be another reason why I think we should change the classification system to something very similar to Golf's handicap system, this will allow you to move up right away IF you shoot a big score out of your Class/Handicap or if at the end of the month your have been slightly better than your class average,Or on the other hand if you have not competing to your class standard over the month then you will be moved down one class, the difference between class places would be e.g 5.1,5.2,5.3,5.4, 5.5 5.6,5.7,5.8,5.9 anything over 5.5 you move up anything under 5.5 you move down at the end of the month, Anyone who know the Golfing handicap system will know it's the fairest way of competing against each other. f3
