As nobody wanted to come with me lamping tonight I was Billy no mates so decieded to see if the pigeons had found the rape yet. enjoyed the drive in the Landy had a recce across the fields and saw the fox in the far corner, out of the landy get .17hmr out of sleeve find bolt and magazine, load magazine and sneak back to the opening in the hedge thinking Mr fox would have been long gone, well he was 70 to 80 yds away and trotting along the hedge line. Couldnt stop him so gave him a small lead and one through the chest. He did the jump up in the air and somersault number before landing dead.

Great start then the fog came down

after setting up the decoys, thought I may as well see what happens, but at times I could only just make out to the edge of my pattern. But a few came in and I enjoyed myself by taking a few walks, on one of these the phesant got up and climbed over the hedge and trees offering a fantastic shot that I couldnt refuse. also the squirral was taking the micky in the trees behind me so he had to go as well. add in a crow that I couldnt get to in the thick stuff a very unusual and fun day.

Gave up on the lamping as the fog made it impossible to see anything, always another day

nice one doc, when it jumped did it get the old ticker going thinking it was going to run? we had one in the summer like it with the hummer, but on the lamp so it jumped and we assumed bolted. Looked for ages till we went back to where it was shot and there it laid dead
