Why are they taking so long again?

They had sped up alot for a good while there but seem to be slipping again.

I vaguely remember someone saying a couple of years ago, that the reason they sped up, was in order to justify a price increase, but that it was not sustainable long term.

Perhaps they went back to business as usual once they knew the price increase wasn't going to happen. Or perhaps they just couldn't sustain the push that sped things up.

I put in a variation in the start of July for swapping a 17hmr for a 17 hornet got it back in 8 working days. I think it has to do with your FEO, My last variation from a .222 to a .22-250 with land check took six days if i remember rightly.

Did you get youre 17 hornet on for small vermin? Ie: bunnies?

Or did you get it on for fox?

Qurious as I may apply for a larger 17 for vermin.

Dancake, perhaps they don't realise that is a smoothbore. I recently had a query from the Garda's firearm branch as to whether my mossberg 500 pump action was single or doubled barreled

It wasn't that long ago that a person working for the FEB enquired as to where the magazine was for a revolver lol. I will contact my feo to find out what the score is. Seems as if they just want a play rather than testing it.

Hi mate I have the .22-250 for dedicated fox and asked for the 17 Hornet for long range vermin. I have a .22lr also for short range vermin

lol what I meant was nothing was said about smoothbore shooting by the FEB. They didn't ask me about smoothbore disciplines within my club.

What will happen is that your FEO will take the firearm for testing, the tester will look at them like they have got two heads and say that it is pointless to test it. They also wont be too chuffed that their time has been wasted on a pointless excercise.

FEB see handgun and don't look any further as to WHAT it is, they immediatley issue the request for ballistic testing.
