I e-mailed them last friday about my renewals and they called me back first thing on monday morning, they answered all my questions and they told me they have now moved to Cramlington police station and their working practices have been improved,so hopefully any delays will be reduced.so maybe you might not have to wait as long as expected.--Dave

Northumbria Police 10-12 weeks for SGC how am I going to wait that long :hmm:???

Get yourself out with any mates you have that shoot and use their gun under their supervision. Atleast that way you are getting in good practise and the waiting will fly over. Just make sure its ok with the land owner first :good:

Unless you are the landowner that's not actually legal, unless under a section 11 exemption. Never heard of anyone being done.

It depends on the FLD's interpretation of the word 'occupier'. Hopefully this is going to be one positive thing that will come out of the Cumbria incident as it was recommended by ACPO that its changed to a much wider and encompassing description :good:

10-12 weeks is good for Northumbria!

Landowner/occupier is whats required for you to do this. My FLO regards anyone who has permission to shoot the land as an occupier so as far as I am concerned it is legal.

Having just gone through my Renewal process I can say it's fairly swift :good:

I was panicing as the letter for the renewal said basically "get it in soon as" as they had estimated it may take till MARCH to sort

Had a phone call within 2 weeks of papers being posted and had a home visit. It was about another week and a half IIRC and the new cert was on the door mat :good:

Fantastic

Nottinghamshire cashed my cheque on the17th of Decemcer 3 weeks after I'd sent in my application. I even went and got another form as I thought the first one was lost in the post. I was hoping to have my license in time for the shooting show at Newark just in case there was a bargain to be had but that's looking less likely as each day passes.

Will let you know how I get on with Durham, just dropped off my FAC/SGC coterminous application today. Last time I held a FAC was about 1993 but I've had my SGC for the last 4 years. Just hope my GP does his job properly with me as we're still trying to sort out the mess he made out of my sons SGC application :(
