Catamong
Never liked mine. Get a second hand, proper gun Yeah, I've fired Billys gun, it had a trigger pull set at about 10lb, a real beasty. I'm afraid it's like pretty much everything in life, you get what you pay for. Cat. fortune82
I was at the clay ground a few months back and a guy came in with one which had split in half just infornt of the action!
al4x
all semis are the same no cleany no worky keep them clean and mantaind thay are reliyable but what you get is cos it only cost 10 bob and a conker new it gets used and abused and then stufed in the cabenet if there lucky thay might get a brush up the barrel. but it never gets striped the bolt and cleen it then when it fails its a pile of poo and gets a bad coment about the reliability when you spend £0000 on a gun it gets yr undevided atension and a servis at the localgun shop they aren't the same, my Browning B80 gets cleaned properly about once a year and works fine, at a guess its as old as I am maybe older and has seen serious use and never jams with whatever goes through it. It was a cheap gun £150 from memory but 15 years ago as it was pretty tatty then. Gets used on vermin days and pigeons and personally I would be livid on a vermin day if my auto jammed when a fox etc needed a second shot. Its never been back to have anything done to it and just works. These Hatstands that it seems most people use the guarantee on get passed from pillar to post just look at how many are in the sale section as an indication how many people keep them past the guarantee period. They are cheap but you can buy a second hand better gun for similar money and it will last you far longer with much less hastle. I've had one jam when the action filled with enough chaff to stop the bolt being drawn back, I was stood on the combine steps rabbiting at the time so personally I reckon its allowed that one slip up

I'm sure when you fired it, it was 10lbs and then *click* from a missfire Seriously, there are £50 shotguns out there which are better. mfletch
Never had one but some of you say my beretta/Browning etc never jammed and I only clean it once a month etc Well a gun is made to kill and anything that dangerous needs respect and should be cleaned every time its taken out even if not fired, I clean mine every time never miss. I bet your trucks never get a oil change as well. Respect and look after what you have and it will do the same for you.

gixer1
I had one, it was a great gun although the o-ring didn't last long using 52grm 3" Mags on geese and had a problem with the gas piston sticking on the mag tube, it was not lovingly looked after though and was caked in shi*e so probably my doing! and it seemed tuff as old boots, the o-rings are a couple of quid and you can keep a couple around as spares as a just in case. The button is a pain for loading but then again loading live rounds is not a job that should be rushed with any firearm! Overall a good gun when you consider they are less than half the price of a berreta of the same function (3" mag etc) Although, my next one will be probably a remi or Berreta just as i like variety! Mungler
Hatsans are poop. The farmer on my shoot bought one and converted it to FAC. Unless you are using a super heavy load with super long carts then it just one cycle more than 1 cartridge. Get a second hand Beretta and if you sell it you will get your money back on it. semiautolee
hi, i own a hatsan escort have done for two year now and it has never let me down once, some people swear by them, some people swear at them , i use mine for pigeon shooting and find it a nice gun to use in the field, you can pick them up for around £350 brand new well thats what i payed for mine. but i must say if you fancy a hatsan dont get the one with loading button on the side its nothing but a pain in neck. mine is the new style where you just push on the loading gate to load. much better. no doubt you will be getting a lot of mixed feelings about the hatsan. i swear by mine. like i say never let me down and are a good gun for the money. if you look after the gun, the gun will look after you i always say. goog luck Edited February 4, 2011 by semiautolee
retromlc
I`m sorry but if you go out and buy a shotgun and the barrel is bent i`m not sure you should be trusted with a SGC in the first place as you clearly should be checking things like that. Edit:- I have the fiddly version with the silly button on the side, however it has never failed, i have put thousands of carts through it and still on the original O ring and can keep up with the best Semi on clays and anything i point it at. yup he shoots better than me
MITCHF
I hate them and ive never even owned one.......why? I shot with a well known Essex mafia member on the pigeons last autumn and spent most of the day watching home shoot one cart then spend 5 mins unjamming the next...or listening to dead mans click...as the cart didnt fire but then did in my gun. AND for all ther times ive been on clay shoots on a weekend and had to wait for some noddy with a hatsan to try 15 times to shoot 1 clay. SAVE YOURSELF SOME MONEY IN THE LONG RUN, GET A DECENT SECOND HAND BROWNING OR BERRETTA!! Good to see there are some people who really support "every" shooter at a shoot
TJ91
no probs with myne so far thousands of cartridges put through it mainly 30/32g 6s but have stuck a few 50g 3s and 26g 8s through it i dont clean it after every shoot (i did when i first got it) its a workhorse, i dont care if it gets scratched (i would care if i had a thousand pound gun!) it has been dropped in muddy salty creeks on the estuary and caked up in bog mud , wipe the mud off with my wellys and carry on shooting cant complain at the price and i sometimes hit things with it if you want a cheap gun you can use get a hatsan if you want a gun that you can panick about scratching have a look at the more expensive guns! I put 1000 cartridges through my Maxus when I got it (not all in one day ) Just an experiment really, to see if the claims where true Didn't jam once Does have the odd hiccup now and again with 67mm clay cartridges, but it does say to use 70mm in the book The A391 Xtrema2 on the other hand, even after being dropped in the mud in the harbour and sitting in heavy rain which was lashing it down sideways, still fired. Never jammed/miss-fed once!. . . EVER ! That thing fired 65mm 67mm 70mm etc etc reliably all day long I agree with the comments, ''you pay for what you get''
J@mes
I'd be ****** if I spent £1200 on a shotgun that didn't fire clay loads consistently - especially when a £350 gun will do it all day long £1200 and they can't make a gun to fire all loads, and even suggest using 70mm carts to avoid jamming? unbelievable! The Escort struggles on clay loads too Edit to add; Checking through the manual, it in fact doesn't suggest using 70mm for reliability. It does say in the manual for the SX3, ''recommended 70mm case length'' The problems I had with the occasional jam, was due to the lightness of the load and not the case length. As I found out today the gun performed flawlessly using gamebore clear pigeon 30g #6 in a 65mm case length Edited February 9, 2011 by chrispti
