gixer1
If i was in the market for a moderator just now i'd be looking at the modular A-Tec ones, a freind has one and the are very light and just as effective as the Reflex one i have on my 243.... Billy.
wildcat or predator They're the same. Wildcat Rifles is the manufacturer and Predator is the moderator
V8 90
I have a DM80 on my T3 .223 Varmint
Deerstalkerlunt
Ase utra Jet z or S5. T8's overheat too quick and are tinny, cheap and nasty. I have a DM80 they are very good, although if you dont unscrew it apart every now and again it fuses together (baffles and outer casing)

seeker
Have you seen Januarys copy of Sporting Rifle for a mod roundup?? ..200g upwards and £200 - £700 s...
Billy.
T8 on My 243 T3. Look after them & they are OK That's the issue I have with T8's. Why would they still make ones that internally rust and weaken? I don't want to have to worry about cleaning a mod every time I use it. Especially as a couple of my rifles lose their zero if the mod is removed. Edited February 18, 2011 by Billy.
garyb
I've got a Wildcat Predator 8 on my T3 (Super Varmint in 243Win) It's heavy.... But I never walk with it so. T8's are fine.

A good squirt of oil and left to drain untill the next session? I have three or four pals who use T8s and I have not known one thats lost zero because of removal - that would be a pain in butt. Clydebuilt
Have a look at the Third Eye Engineering "Spartan" I use it on my T3 .243, you can fully strip it down if need be and I find it performs very well. Just another to add to the mix!!
garyb
I ran a T8 for a few years and had no trouble with it at all. Billy - I would suggest your Ruger has the wrong thread and that's why you have that particular problem... All of my rifles return to "zero" after replacing the moderator... Infact it's good practice to remove it after shooting anyway, to guard against moisture.
al4x
yep its not good to leave a centrefire mod on especially if you've had a few shots, if nothing else the condensation etc is right where you don't want it. Unless you store your rifles upside down
Billy.
I understand that the condensation isn't good for the rifle, but it makes no sense to build a sound moderator that's susceptible to rust. Saying that... I do drive a Landy
al4x
unless you have a stainless barrel it will knacker the crown and threaded section fairly fast if you leave them on all the time
garyb
Even a stainless barrel isn't "stainless" and will rust.
Billy.
unless you have a stainless barrel it will knacker the crown and threaded section fairly fast if you leave them on all the time I would take the mod of my .270 to see the state, but the zero will go. I'm not forking out for another 20 rounds to zero it
al4x
it can't go by that much, if so you have a rifle with a serious problem
