the enigma
How particular are the PSNI about storage of a bolt and ammo for a rimfire.... Does it have to be a dedicated bolt and ammo safe or will one of the £30 jobbies out of the likes of Homebase do the trick? steve_b_wales
Not sure how strict the police are in your area, but I used the 'Argos/B&Q type safes for my ammo etc, and the police had no objections. Mine are bolted onto the top of my gun cabinets and into the wall.
deputy dog
I got an Argos digital safe for £32 and i keep my ammo, magazine and bolt in it along with other documents. Police had no problems with it. I to have it bolted to the wall above my cabinet. So don't go buying any thing expensive at it would prove a waste of money. Ian750
Cheap safe from B&Q did it for me, FEO was totally happy with it, more interested in the bolts that I used to mount it to the wall. ATB.

Dekers
Firearms regs are somewhat different in NI to most of the rest of the UK, I don't know the answer here, but I'm curious myself just the same!

CEREALTHRILLER
Yes. I was told by my feo that it is NOT a legal requirement, however they LIKE you to have them stored in a separate lockable box. This makes sure you have taken all reasonable precautions regarding safe storage. So you don't have to have one but if anything happens it's your responsibilty. If it was a leqal requirement to store bolt seperately then surely that would preclude you having a semi auto from which the bolt can't be taken out
