kdubya
india has one of the fastest growing economies in the world yes india is a first class example a third of the planet's population who are below the World Bank's extreme poverty line live in India. half of all children in the country are malnourished and it does not have the tax base to eliminate poverty though internal wealth redistribution. we also gave nearly £300 million aid to india last year ( its frozen at the same rate this) perhaps you would like to also claim zimbabwe as aglowing example? Curly87
I wouldnt say they are oppressed when wearing a burka, agreed in some cases husbands beat them if they dont but for most its just part of life and many enjoy wearing one. They arent causing any harm, let them get on with it. We certainly have a lot more to worry about in england than some women wearing clothes that some find odd. jacksdad
What about Male terror suspects escaping from the UK by wearing Burkhas? As I stated earlier, can I wear a camo face veil, or leave my bike crash helmet on in public?...NO! Thats because the CCTV cannot get a picture of my boat race, which is a valid reason to ban them, along with all other face coverings

Which i fully agree with and something that needs to be changed especially in muslim countries but a lot still enjoy wearing one as it gives them freedom so to speak in a messed up situation and in an ideal world they shouldnt have to wear one, but our world is less than ideal! four-wheel-drive
Burker Ban I find it hard to praise the French for anything however I think they have this one right, if only the UK had the nads to do likewise Congratulations Paveman I think this is the longest thread that I have seen on her most of it nothing to do with the burka-ban but all very interesting keep up the good work. pavman
do you drink when in Muslim countries Pav? Its not offensive to drink its offensive to offer it to a muslim.......... Turkey dam fime holiday place (mostly Muslim) bars on every corner. I have seen on many occasions, Muslims drinking, use of prostitution, and changing clothes as soon as they get on a plane to dress in jeans and t shirt. Many are only Muslims when surrounded by other Muslims. Get them on their own and its another story for many, all covered beautifully by the following statement as told to me by an apparently devout Muslim man A man is weak and Allah knows this and can forgive him………. For a woman this is not so
kdubya
So how do we make a difference to an oppressed people, its actually very simple we let them in if they can provide proof that they need to come for genuine reasons IE true asylum not economic migration, or if they can benefit US and have the means of self sufficiency (as we need if we go to say australia) and that once they are here they integrate fully and accept our terribly deviant ways of western devil worship, and dont try (make that achieve) to set up a culture that takes them back to the very society they supposedly came here to escape from? You have no connecion with the real world and all you can spout is silly little remarks involving racism whenever someone tells how "they" see it. You want to take a good long look at that cartoon posted earlier in the thread and see exactly what it symbolises "a blind man attacking somebody elses views" am I wrong or is freedom of speech not allowed?? I am far from blind, I`ve travelled to many countries and met many different races of people. I also live in Scotland which is second only to Tyne & Wear for it`s increase in foreign born migrants (113% to 190%). Both of these figures are far above any others in the UK, do I have a problem with migrants......No! Multiculturism might now be regarded as a failure, but not for the reasons you quote. What you claim to see and interpret and form an opinion on has been proven to be wrong time and time again in this thread yet you continue blindly spouting utter drivel. How would the NHS have fared without Indian doctors? How would the textile industry in your area have grown in the 1950's and 1960's were it not for Pakistani workers shipped in specifically to fill employment gaps? In my area our coal mines were full of Poles and Czechs who stayed behind after the war. There is nothing wrong with immigration. Where it went wrong is by not excluding economic migrants from our health and welfare systems thus attracting non-workers, and by not making our own sick, lame and lazy take jobs before allowing immigrants to fill them. RE the red highlighted; We seemed to do alright before they were here and we had less infections and more beds (sic not saying infection is a direct result of foreign doctors lol) Parts of this highlighted green I agree with, but you still have to show me where you "proved me wrong" You haven't!!! I've travelled and met enough; India, Thailand, europe the nicest were the Thais and indians and they are the same when they come here or go anywhere else in the world they have their customs but integrate and mould to the culture they are living in. We have a very large sikh part of our family who are from the Punjab area and have property there which we can visit when we like. I have many very close Thai friends from my days Thai boxing and still see the ones who live here, regularly. When we see each other we greet in Thai not English, why? because it carries more significance and shows how we think of each other better than any English greeting ever could my Eldest daughter is pretty good too and she is 8 and half Dutch so don't go making judgments about what I believe and want for my country when you don't have a clue
