88b
I used to drive a Reliant on a full bike licence. 400kg kerbside weight is the criteria. Just as well I have an HGV as my Harley is about 400kg. Probably cheaper to just get a car license as it will be cheaper than a bike license and plastic pigs cost a lot compared to a normal car. Mk1 Man
I used to drive a Reliant on a full bike licence. 400kg kerbside weight is the criteria. I've had the old Trotter style vans, 21E I think, and Robins. Great vehicles and faster than you think, because they're so light. I used to love it because people could not bear to be stuck behind me. It was obvious that they were thinking "OK, I'll overtake him on the next bend". If you slowed down through a bend then that would put the weight forward and tend to tip so the trick was to approach the bend at a reasonable speed then put your foot hard down through the bend and it would stay upright. You could always modify it Well that's just a waste of a decent Bike engine.

Imperfection
Wish i still had mine great fun I remember seeing one when i was a small child in the 70's and thought they looked cool. Not sure if i'd feel confident driving one on todays road though. They did one up on Wheeler Dealers which ended up going for several thousand pounds and have a cult following. marmitemania
Nobody has corrected the title of this thread yet, its the usual mistake, its a Reliant Robin not a Robin Reliant. I personally would steer clear of these parts are very expensive and the cars themselves are also very expensive for what they are.
RUNCEMOUNT
Where i am working now, we had a dozy bus cleaner who had a robin reliant and there was something wrong with it. So the mechanics told him just for a laugh to drive it onto the open pit and they would take a look, so the dozy **** did and it nosedived into the pit. They said it took some getting out.... And they also said it was only basically scratched on the sides when it got wedged in the pit Edited May 18, 2011 by RUNCEMOUNT

four-wheel-drive
I remember years ago I was driving along this winding road following a Bond three wheeler not a Bug one of the two seater open top ones. There we was just plodding along doing about 40 mph when suddenly it sort of wobbled and one of the rear wheels came of the ground it frightened me to death I thought it was going to turn over but it just settled down and carried on quite strange it was. UKPoacher
Bet they're all ******* themselves now that his life is in ruins. No doubt the smug ***** will manage to put a spin on the whole thing and come out even smarmier than before. His life would only really be in ruins of he was forced to drive a Reliant Robin because he couldn't afford anything better. Here's my brother-in-law's sports trike;
Gordon R
In my youth I considered buying a Bond Bug 750ES, if I remember correctly. Sat in the Bug and garage owner shut the lid. It hit me on the head fairly hard and knocked me sick. I chose not to buy. I had seen a few about and they looked nippy.

Just do your driving test and don't be a muppet. Do you really think you're going to be able to get, let alone keep a girlfriend if you decide to buy one of those stupid creations? amateur
due to work i dont have time to do my driving test so i've heard that you can drive a robin on a prov licence is it true? cheers stuart I think that this answers your original question PNLD FAQ Alphabetical List -.htm So if you have a 3 wheeler that weighs less than 550kg and can only carry one person, you could drive it on a provisional - but I think that most conventional three wheelers would fail on the second point. But what about an Invacar? Thundesley AC Invacar.htm (As long as it is registered as a tricycle and not an invalid carriage) Now that would do wonders for your street cred
