BlaserF3
Place wet cloth over dent, then apply a hot iron to the cloth, the steam will raise the damaged grain. It all depends how deep it is.

BlaserF3
and whether the stock is varnished That's a different kettle of fish I was hoping that it wasn't varnished. If so have a look at some stock refinishing articles on tinternet
Spiderdude
Silver Pig 1... No varnish involved.
Vinny v
Silver Pig 1... No varnish involved. Did you ever resolve the problem with the White marks on the stock after using it in the rain?? Reason I ask is that I got caught out the other day and I now have the same problem. I have applied more ccl oil which has taken the worst of it out but I'm just concerned that it will happen again. Spiderdude
Nope, did best I could to reduce it but still there. Will be bringing this up at same time as barrels. I decided that I would get the stock refinished properly in the near future.
Vinny v
Think I'll drop them an email and see what they say. The more people to complain the better. You do seem to be having a bit of a run of bad luck with this gun and I hope Gmk replace the barrels and sort the stock out for you. Think you've had your 3 lots of bad luck now, stock, barrels and now dent in the wood. It can only get better mate. V

BerettaSV10
Took my SP1 out tonight, there is no gap like on yours. There is however the brown sepage around the bottom barrel on the underside, from this joint.

Spiderdude
It could well be that I've just got a "Friday" gun. My intention is to sell it once it's sorted and buy a higher spec secondhand model.
NickP
No gap and no visible seepage on mine, however I still have slight water stains, there but liveable as they only show in certain light and angles If you want a comparision photo to take along with you, just let me know and we might be able to meet up so you can take some

Spiderdude
Cheers Nick.. Taking it in on Saturday so I'll see what they say, hopefully they'll send it back to GMK. It does seem that the guy from GMK is right in what he said, some are worse than others but it is normal amd fine. A few people seem to have said they have similar. It hasn't caused me any problems thunderbird, just don't like the idea of holes and oil leaking from seams.
HDAV
SO what happened?
Spiderdude
Showed it to the guys at Gilsan this morning, they said never seen anything like it before. Said it would be with GMK tuesday. They were excellent very apologetic even though it's not their fault. They said that there is no way it should have a hole where it does. Can't fault Gilsan for customer service, bought a few buts and pieces whilst there, which they gave me a 50% discount on to cover my petrol... So let's see what GMK do now. Shropshire_Lad
We got a bettinsoli 20 bore from Gilsan while they were at the Midland just down the road from me, great people to deal with on the day and nice to hear they are great if a problem arises. Sad to hear there are problems with the new Silver Pigeon 1, I was set on getting one but an older Silver pigeon 111 in left hand came up at the right price and condition. Hope you get sorted and end up with a gun you have pride in and enjoy using. atvb Paul.

NickP
any news from GMK?
Spiderdude
GMK have no returned the gun to Gilsan stating that it is entirely normal to have both leakage as it is flux that makes it brown. As for the hole this is also normal and is not detrimental to the performance of the gun in any way. I haven't collected it yet, but I have asked them to come back to me with more information on "normal". I have explained that I don't feel a hole in the join between the monoblock and the barrels to be "normal". Not sure I am happy with their explaination. But ultimately what can I do other than accept it?? After all they have inspected it. So, stuck now I think....
markm
Did you pay by card or cheque? If do you might have some comeback. Your big problem is it has passed proof? Would it fail if it is resubmitted? Probably not. Is it safe? Manufacturer says yes. Don't really think you have a case even though we (and you) think it's wrong. Consider taking some decent close up photographs and send them to Beretta in Italy and request their opinion. webber
