Beretta28g
I went out this morning to shoot a few bunnies. In all i killed 24, however, only one of those as far as external sighs could tell was free of Myxamitosis. Is anyone else suffering with these problems? Frenchieboy
Fortunately no sign of Mixy on any of my permissions. I would not be saddened if I never saw any signs of the filthy disease ever again!
Hornet 6
Not showing on my permission yet this year, but have had it the last 3 years by end of September. Last year was particularly bad, that and the snow really knocked them back, not recovered yet. Neil.

Seamus
I reckon about 5-10% of those we shoot around my village have it, one a few weeks back was really bad. Bloody horrible disease.

mrpip
Been shooting a block of willows since start of April, over run with rabbits, shot first 1 with mixie on first week but have shot 78 on there since that have all been healthy (until they came into contact with 30 grams of No6 shot). Still plenty about not shot any with mixie in last 3 week, seems to have passed. On another large permision about 5 mile away with plenty of rabbits shot first 1 with mixie 2 week ago it was an old doe full of young uns. See it every year round but it dose not seem to wipe them out like it did when I was a kid 40 ish year ago used to see loads, think some have developed a form of imunity (thats my opinion)

In all i killed 24, however, only one of those as far as external sighs could tell was free of Myxamitosis. Is anyone else suffering with these problems? Don't think so, some scruffy looking pelts but no obvious head/eye swelling, maybe a bit of mange or flea infestation? I hope that's all anyway... sixhills 69
I shot 28 the other evening around 5 paddocks on the farm, 3 had mixie i got them from fields that have the same stream (water source) the other fields away from the water were all clean. I have noticed the two fields with the stream, the rabbits are coated in fleas. Is that how mixie is carried?
Mk1 Man
I have Myxi on one of my shoots at the moment. I'm not too bothered though as I'm there to clear them as it's a freshly laid rugby pitch. If anything the Myxi will help me to thin their numbers a little quicker. That said, It is still a horrible way to kill a Rabbit, and as such any Rabbits that obviously have the disease are shot 1st to end their misery. I have noticed the two fields with the stream, the rabbits are coated in fleas. Is that how mixie is carried? Mixie is carried in the fleas. The young are immune for about 14 days post birth, then they develop symptoms. You can shoot the infected but the burrows will still team with the fleas... They are carried by fleas, I have no idea what if any effect water has on this! Commonly if we have wet Spring periods Mixxy is worse, but this is genrelly attributed to the fact the rabbits spend more time in the burrows so the fleas get more chance . nicelydoesit
aswell i do know fleas play a big role and infect the bunnie but am not sure if the same goes for other parasites like ticks lice etc
