jonno 357
After I dropped off son at school yesterday I witnessed a quality moment. Its at a very busy roundabout on an A road in Brighouse, between Huddersfield and Bradistan Guy in Vanquish S is at the head of the tarffic at roundabout and stalls car, nice. It won't start even better. He gets on the mobile at is tecticulating to some poor sod on the other end of the phone. By this time he has caused a slight hold up in one of the lanes and it is looking at bit hectic at the roundabout. Mr Aston Martin decides to shift his car from the roundabout, he gets out and starts pushing motor into a side road. Poor B@stard has to shove it all on his own, no one came to help. Mr Jonno 357 kindly stands at the side of the car and takes some loverly pictures with D500 (couldn't help shoving it, bad back ) His car reg was 9 US I asked him what the US stood for ? Useless as I walked off laughing A £160000 pride of the British Motoring Industry broken down. PRICELESS Jonno

Axe
I came upon a very similar scenario with a chap in a brand spanking new convertable DB-9. Worse still was that the local scholl had just filtered out all the pupils and this was in a not so good london suburb.

jonno 357
Its a funny old British attitude that we love to enjoy any misfortune of successful folk. Not at all Deako. Its the first time I have seen one and the bloody thing breaks down. Not a very good advert for British Motoring Industry. My mates younger brother has made some serious cash over the last 10 years and has always enjoyed his motors He has always leased Merc's. I once asked him if he was going to get the Vanquish when it came out. He said they are a pile of ****. He drives a SL65 AMG with a £40K private plate Unfortunate my mates younger brother isn't blest with good looks and HAIR(Baldy) yet his ex now missus is a real stunner Yes, she after having his kids took him to the cleaners big time for the divorce settlement:D Now that is a misfortune of successful story Jonno Edited April 27, 2006 by jonno
Deako
jonno, Wasn't having a go at you mate, just seems to human nature. Lord Geordie
I remember seeing a guy in the 80s CRYING as his Lotus was melting into the gutter as it burned. And the same scenario on the A1 near Morpeth when a guy in his VW camper had SECONDS to spare when he retreived some gear when smoke was pouring from his camper. I am talking 10-15 seconds and it was a FIREBALL The guy in the AM has money so let him spend it on his pile of tosh Me i will stick to my Vauxhalls and Rickmans LG

apbuild
I sometimes do work for a guy who has just bought a Vanquish s from Hugh Grant the film Star. When the car was being checked over by Aston Martin, they identified a leak at the sump gasket. To rectify said problem, the engine had to be removed from the car to fix it. The price? £5,000. Whilst out of the engine bay, my mate asked, 'Can you skim the pots to get a little more oomph from the thing. Dread to think of the extra cost involved in that one. The result, and in their own words, 'This is now the fastest Aston Martin ever to leave our factory'. Oh to have money to burn!!!!!! Rob. Mungler
Being British we love the under-dog. Which means we immediately dislike the over-dog (if such a thing exists). Best moment - Ferrari driver showing off, dolly bird in front passenger seat. Floors it out of a turning, the car loses control and then "bites" with terrific grip. He plants car into low height front brick wall of someone's front garden. Absolute silence follows the collision and the loud bang. People gather (this is the top end of the High Street). Then we hear.. "oh **** IT". Much appaulase in the High Street follows. There is a god and yes he was shopping in Shenfield that day. Does Ford own AM ? I didn't know that Jonno BMW drivers, do they? Drive I mean, they seem to just guide the car rather than pay any attention to the road. Thats why Audi are doing well as people dont buy BM's for fear of the brush of tar. If you drive a BM watch out for me, as i'll give you no graces. Yes yes ford own Aston Martin but it is still very much english. Its financed by ford and lets be honest , who doesnt like the RS-1600 Mk1 Escort or RS3.1 Capri Mk1 or the Mk2 Savage Cortina etc etc. Aston may be our last heritage, dont put it down. Axe
The trouble with cars today, is that they are getting far stuffed with far to much technology. My old mans Merc had been back several times for system failures, spanning from engine management, gearbox management, even the main ecu went down. Its cost him 42K to buy and 1K for all the paracetamol.
SNAKEBITE
I seem to be having trouble with Audi drivers at the moment, oh but it's Volvo drivers that seem hell bent on killing me
