My brother in law is a medic and worked in Tikrit for an american company. He did this for nearly 6 months until his escort to Baghdad airport came under fire from insurgents. Unfortunately, the two front armoured cars were knocked out killing two american soldiers. He realised that his family came first before money since no body armour and side-arm would save him from any fanatical insurgent.

I beg you to consider your job offer wisely.

Kind regards

Digger mate,

Its bad enough working away from home, missing your kids growing up and every thing else that goes with it, without Ba****ds trying to kill you while you are there trying to help THEM!.

The question is, what sort of gambler are you?

I have lost £'s on many ventures and made piles on others but then again my life was never on the line.

The astute investor only puts up what he can afford to lose without his life being wrecked.

Well it sounds as if you have a few years left in you yet with kids at that age, so no.

However, If the amount of money was obscene, a person not too far from the knackers yard (but able to do that job) might just do it as a way of providing for his family/nest egg - and risk not having to face the indignity some have in old age.

I dont imply that old age holds indignity for all - but some of us have "things coming on" that we know or suspect will make us a burden in later life... who knows?
