With woodland and the type of Stalking i do & when shooting off sticks it is FAR EASYER to mount your Gun single handed and get it on to the sticks, with less chance of your quarry seeing you if you carry the gun round barrel down & taped. When Stalking Stags in the Highlands I change the strap around and carry the gun barrel up and taped as you tend to slip into cracks and the like with more chance of fowling the barrel.
