cjm
can see the logic in it but it makes the gun terrible looking, is it heavy??
northernchris
Hi CJM Not it isn't heavy approx 120grams. It is meant to catch shell not look pretty. People have made them before out of netting which works OK but gets caught up in heather/foliage.
Browning
I have been using one of these in anger for approx 4 months now, they do the job very well indeed. Very light, and don't affect the handling or sight picture of the shotgun. I can recommend them.

HDAV
Do you not find the extra 120g + spent cases affects your swing? Balance?
northernchris
No more than a multi shot semi full of 36/42gram when full then empty. A full multi has a vast amount of more weight.

chris t
I really like the idea of this, however the whole taking it off and empting thing would annoy me after awhile. I'd prefer to try something where by a bar sticks out the side of the gun. Then on shell ejection, it hits the bar and lands at your feet. Anyone have ideas or thoughts on this type of thing? chris t
Thats OK for me. It's just when I'm shooting from a hide normally against a hedge, I find a lot of shells in the hedge, nettles, thistles etc Not that great crawling around in the nettles. Thanks Chris

Anyone have ideas or thoughts on this type of thing? sounds good to me, my sx3 send them too far- 3 1/2" shells go flying through the air for as much as 15yds, this is bad coz it often makes recovery impossible on the marsh especially in the dark

Tiger955i
I think the idea is brilliant. As altredy said, you can not always retreive all your empties from nettles and brambles etc and I hate leaving any behind. How do you empty it? Is there a trap door arangement or do you simply take it off the gun? Also I think this would provide a usefull barrier against sand and dirt ingress at the foreshore. killer_pigeon
it looks like a bird box so it will attract birds in before you pop them off , just need apex roof and small hole

sitsinhedges
Beretta make one,the UGB. Vic. For about 2 grand and weighs about 10lb though. Only 2 cartidges too. Not much of a roughshooters gun.
Breastman
Im surprised theres so much criticism of it considering the amount of whinging that goes on about being hit with empties from semi's I use brass catchers on 3 of my rifles and its to stop hot brass raining down on the people to my right and to make clearing up a lot quicker, they aren't fashion accessories you tarts! Question for OP; Does it not impede you accessing the bolt release button? Mark
