Spiderdude
Don't get one if you have to order it. Edgar Bros / Hatsan are so ******* slow. I've been told it would take a month. A month has passed. I was then told an extra 2 weeks because they are being proofed. 2 weeks have now gone. I called up and now I've been told mine wasn't sent off for proofing it’s in the next batch in a few days and expect to wait another 3 weeks. So angry it's not even funny. They are complete S… Stay away from them It’s gone beyond a joke. I've just been quoted two days delivery on a 26" version... Might take that with a pinch of salt then!! welsh1
My hatsan semi works well,it doesn't like anything below 28g but it has cycled everything else i have put through it,and the only problem i have with it is that it ejects the shell about 11 feet away and can be a pain trying to find a shell in long grass(you would think red and pink shells would be easy to spot) For the price i paid for it i have no complaints,i use it for rough and decoying and it knocks things out of the sky, what more do you need
Laird Lugton
I have a brand spanking new Hatsan Escort Magnum 28" and used some Hull Cartridge 30g No 6's to do some patterning & clays. All 50 with no jams (not conclusive amount for no jams...) and bagged my first pigeon too. I like it a lot, My Beretta Silver Pigeon may spend some time in the cabinet! Off on my first wildfowling trip next week so we'll see how it performs. I paid £380 and for the money great value for a knock about gun. The Jackson
My field gun, love it. Never had any problems but always keep it clean.
Simon123
I love mine even though it's the older version with the loading gate release button on the side,it's a Great little gun, and a fantastic work horse, great for rough shooting, and actually good to use for anything. Mines great, cycles everything from 28g cart's upto 52g cart's without any hiccups at all and the great thing about it is, that it only cost me £200 and i don't really care if i scratch it. ;) Their fantastic mate, some are bad i do agree but they are great for the money, yes there are better guns available on the market, but their price tag makes them great. I would definitely buy another one if something happened to my current one and therefore recommend one to a friend. :good:

Mike525steel
They are a good cheap no frills semi. But don't be surprised if it breaks or you come to strip it down and find something totally smashed to pieces or totally missing(justy read the hundreds of threads on here and other sites) I think for the money you pay it's worth the guarantee though. silver pigeon 3
Had mine for about 18 months now and count the number of jams on one hand, all of these were because i was using 65/67 mm cartridges, as long as you feed it 70mm cartridges that are reasonably punchy (not comp x) it will be fine. And at the weekend i shot a round of 50 sporting with a chap using a Berreta auto using the same cartridges as me he had 3 jams in 50 where as me with my "budget" gun had none, it doesn't make the Hatsan better than the Berreta but it does show ALL autos can and do jam for various reasons. M.I.A
I haven't cleaned mine from new, I won't until it jams. Just out of curiosity really, I want to see how many it will do.
Matt Gould
i have had mine for about for about 3 or 4 years now, i admit its far from the best semi auto but expected when i brought it, i only wanted it so i could use it for hide shooting, rabbiting of a gator and lots off rough work. when i first had this gun i was using 30gram 65mm carts and very nearly sold it after the first week of owning it ! but i was told to try some 32gram 70mm,now that might explin why i have still got it after all this time love it ! and the 32gram cart hit harder too.WIN
steve_b_wales
I find with mine, that it's the cartridge length, not the weight of the shot, that makes the difference between possible jamming or not. 70mm (2-3/4") cartridges will cyle every time, but shorter lengths sometimes cause it to jam. Spiderdude
I've used Dan Arms, 28g 7.5 on the clays. The cartridge length is 70mm and they cycle perfectly well. I was told when buying it, if you put upwards of 500, 32g cartridges through it first to bed it in, it will cycle anything that is 67 or 70mm long, but needs to be 28g or higher. Dorsey
Since having mine - which is errm, all of 2 weeks now. I have fired 8 shots through it. The first 3 were to test it - they were 32g clear pigeon in 70mm case. They worked beautifully and I was thrilled. The next carts I loaded were on my first real 'outing' with it. They were 30g game carts of some sort but I already can't remember. They were shorter than the clear pigeon... the first shot went off nicely even though I missed - so I carried on swinging to have another go and found it had jammed and not cycled the next cartridge. Awesome. Went back to clear pigeon carts from my other pocket after that and the next few shots were fine so i'd say i've got quite a fussy one but i'm not too worried. yet. phaedra1106
Both of my semis jam with Hull Comp-X as they are about 2mm shorter than Eley Firsts, only way they will shoot them is one chambered and one in the mag. Steve'o
Having no problems at all with my Escort using HULL COMP X Fibres 28g and 21g all 3 shots cycle perfectly
phaedra1106
Strange, I've got both versions (side button and fast load) and both do the same thing, load 1 in the chamber, 2 in the mag or just 2 in the mag and cycle the action (either by hand or by firing) and both in the mag come out together, every time. Use Eley or any other cartridge that's slightly longer than the Comp-X and they both cycle fine!.
