woodcock1
Unreal! I would love to be able to shoot Swans haha! Exactly why would you want to do that? Not being cheeky. Serious question.
Catweazle
Apparently they're quite tasty. They hit the ground hard, what do they weigh ?
butchdickason
Very Poor Shooting, the number of birds they pricked was criminal, a bunch of *******. Butch

FalconFN
Too much whoopin' an' a hollerin' for my liking. It's odd to watch swans being shot as my first impression was "that's wrong" but really is it any diffrent to other wildfowling? Probably not. hedd-wyn
Jeez, I think the swans were outnumbered! It's like a scene from Vietnam!!

SneakyD
******* sick and i think that everyone that agrees that shooting swans is ok belongs on a different forum not one that tries to look after shooters interests Why is it sick to hunt swans where it is legal? sako751sg
If its on the quarry list why not?The standard of shooting and behaviour leaves a lot to be desired though/
SneakyD
If its on the quarry list why not?The standard of shooting and behaviour leaves a lot to be desired though/ I agree with both points. I am just curious why anyone would think it was sick to legally shoot swans.
silver pigeon 3
i agree with most of the other posts, the shooting of swans is not the issue, aslong as they are legal quarry. The problem is with how they were shot, and the attitude of the hunters. But if you watch the american waterfowl videos it seems like that is how they do it, so best to leave them to it, we will shoot how we do over here and they can carry on over there. ordnance
Most people have different views on what they would not shoot. You could argue its just another bird, i personally would rather feed one bread than shoot it. Edited January 9, 2012 by ordnance
ciaran
Exactly why would you want to do that? Not being cheeky. Serious question. I would love to shoot them because they are so big, and probably tasty too....why would you not like to shoot them? I am sure you wouldn't hesitate to shoot them if they were a legal quarry...And the only reason they arn't a legal quarry is because they belong to the queen.. ciaran
Most people have different views on what they would not shoot. lewj
so people shoot snipe and teal but yet wont shoot swans ,ok ?
ordnance
But sure would you rather feed duck and geese bread rather than shoot them? I used to shoot most things that moved. Now mostly paper, but as i say most shooters have view on some things they wouldn't shoot.

What do u mean paper..? And I agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but seems to be a few people who are taking the video a bit to harsh.. woodcock1
As I said in my op i was just wondering why, not criticizing it. Swans fly past me regular as Im sure you have all experienced. The are slow, fly straight and level and make no attempt to avoid you even if you are in the middle of a field. To then decoy them to a point where they are slowed right down preparing to land just makes it worse. Comparing them in sporting terms to a snipe or teal is unjustifiable. I imagine they wouldnt be great eating possibly tough and fishy if that makes sense.
