stoggieman
Wife has a citroen c1. We sometimes drop the seats in the rear and I put my scooter in. This little car does over 60 mpg road tax is £20 insurance is about £100. If you want a small van I would look at one of these and remove the rear seats you could then put some form of blind over the windows this would convert into a very cheap and very reliable van. Harvey1972
My 11year old 1.7dti 170k Astra van is still returning between 48 - 52mpg and still doing 500+ miles every week, that's why mpg is important to me.

andrewluke
Why is MPG such an issue probably because of the high price of fuel, andrew
haggis
Astra 1700 is a good engine not like the 1300 they are pants steer clear of anything with that engine also euro 4 is cheaper to tax £130 I think.

HDAV
If you do alot of town driving look at the auto shut off ones saves loads of fuel in traffic, memo is supposed to be good for fuel
woodcock1
You will not get over 45mpg from a berlingo/partner in either 1.9d or 2.0hdi. Possibly a little better with the 1.6hdi I've had a couple of both 1.9 and 2.0. They are low geared to suit heavy loads towing etc. Not sure about the newest versions 08 on. They are still great vans and if I was going back to a van that's what id have in a 1.6hdi. VW's Caddy are easy on fuel but way over rated and hence priced.
