20th February

As you might know the 20th Feb is the last day of the wildfowling season, below the high water mark.

It was the last outing of the season, so i decided to take out my eight bore, its a grand old gun, built about 1880

40" barrel, 3,3/4" chamber chucking 64gm of 4mm ITM.

Despite getting under thousands of pinks, most were too high, but one skein was just a bit lower giving me a chance to shoulder the gun for the last shot of the 2011-2012 season. Luckily the shot was good dropping my last goose until September.

Just a quick photo to mark the occasion.

Thanks for all the comments, i couldnt have ended this season any better, just what i wanted.

The dog is not happy about the net (as you can probably work out) but every little helps, pinks have very keen eyes. :good:

The Eight bore shell and a Twelve bore shell.
