Mr ST,

I have to agree and disagree with you, of course affordability can come into play, but one could also simply choose not to buy an expensive gun especially if it is going to be used in the hide where you know it will get damaged.

agreed fella but same again if you could afford a 1k gun so be it. if it got damaged so be it its a gun not a thing to look at if i wanted cheap id buy cheap i want the best i can afford i wish i could spend 10 k on one if i had the cash i wood id still take it pigeon shooting or wats the point haveing it .

Same thing at tescos i dont shop in cheap section why cause i dont want to evan tho the 9 pences beans are probely made at the same place as 60 pence beans if that makes sence

Both arguments stand true!I just felt a "blanket" statement that just because you don't have an expensive gun means you can't afford one was a little strong!

Everyone is friends again, group hug at the ready

bet this will get the mob barking its not guns nobs its a fact if they could afford a better gun they wood but they car"nt

your not telling me if your had a pick of a beretta or a hatstand you wood pick the latter my bum you wood :hmm::hmm: so lets get this right its gun poverty thats the problem simples :lol:

What's wrong with not wanting to spend a huge amount extra on something that does the same job?

If I were after a new gun I might not want to spend £1000 when £350 would do the same job - I might want to put the money to good use (such as more guns!). It wouldn't mean I couldn't spend more money, simply that I wouldn't want to.

Son has a escort, lovely gun, never jammed shot carts as light as 21g to mini mags 40g no props, & he can out shoot most of the nobs on my old shoot with a grand plus guns. They talk the talk have all the kit 200 quid wellies flat caps & waistcoats and all that ****.But when it comes too shooting regardless of the expense they dont hit jack ****.The perfect day was when mentioned knob got his 45 grand vouge stuck in mud & one of the lads just drove straight through in a Jimmy worth about 2 grans, priceless.WE learnt the hard way when my wife spent 38k on a Jag we kept it 3 yrs and lost 30k when we traded it in.Beretta/Escort both do the same job but ones gona lose a lot more money when sold.

I had Lanber Sport 800quid & Beretta A400 extreme 1500quid & not worth it , sold both after trying a mates old Franchi al45.cost me 150 quid. Will keep it till it dies or i do.

forgot to add lost 500 on the Lanber & 900 on the Beretta both had less than 200 carts each through them.

Whats wrong with the escorts?? brilliant bits of kit, mine has had thousands of carts through it, things break and wear out and are replaced, its probably one of the easiest guns to strip down and doesn't cost the earth, so what's wrong with em?

Tel.

I agree .....Have you read Mike Stones test report in the latest edition of Gun Mart?

Chard Is right who really give a ****. If you want to buy an escort, then buy an escort, People seem to love them or hate them. This just keeps coming up again and again . Is it that you have gone into a shop and paid good money for one and need a bit of reassurance on you buy ?

Chard is an auld curmudgeon yet without the likes of him and the eternal Escort rubbish/brilliant debate the forum would be mighty quiet .

dead eye.

Bought my Escort second hand for £190 .... Part exchanged it for the latest fast loader at Countryman of Derby received £175 .... Hsd to pay £170 ......Now thats a bargain. Never had a problem with my old gun .....and I just love my new one.

Hatsan has accounted for a few more pigeons, geese etc and still no problems, dried it off, lubed it up then got out of me muddy, wet clothes and took a hot shower.

I do find it very interesting what people form their views on and how they think, the fact that just a few words can elicit some strong opinions from such a varied cross section of the masses gives me a quiet moment of thought.
