triumphant59
The last gun I bought that I still have is a Darne model V-19 12 bore, bored impcyl in both barrels. I met the man who had it built and he told me that for general game shooting it was regulated for the old eley trapshooting paper case with 32gm of no 7 shot, that it handled hymax no3 shot well for geese and alphamax 5 shot for duck. He was right. I used it as my backup when on the foreshore with my double 10 and shudder to think how I treated those guns. I had fleece lined cases and used to throw them over creeks that I had to wade, giving me an added incentive to get over. I have subsequently found it handles 28 gm 7.5 shot perfectly too. I bought it in 1983 and it was made in 1957. www.fusildarne.com/images/v19.jpg is how my gun looks. Bought a 125 year old (aprox) English (Birmingham) 16b hammer gun, Damascus barrels, in exceptional, original condition, action retains much of original colour. Can't wait to try it out! Steel100
Bought a couple of rifles last week: A .22rf 'Mansoura' bolt-action. This is an Egyptian made copy of a Brno No.1 or 2 (not quite sure). Birmingham proof marks suggest importation in 1964. Pretty good metalwork, rather poor woodwork and one of the best triggers of any .22 I've ever shot - bit of a 'curate's egg' really! The other a Brno ZKB110 tip up action single shot rifle in 5.6 X 52R (.22 Savage High Power). Dated 1999 and in very good condition. Just trying to sort out some cases, bullets (.228" dia.) and dies. Could make an exotic foxing rifle, I suppose. Andy

Caisterboy
8y.o. S/H Gamba Daytona, 32" Sporter - took me nearly a year to hunt a decent one down that i could afford - can't tell you how good it shoots. I've always had a Browning of some description but it makes them feel like a fence post! Its just a pity there's an idiot pulling the trigger Edited July 16, 2012 by Caisterboy

vole
I bought a Marlin B/A .22 magnum model 25 mn for £120 . Put 50 rounds through it at the range and am very pleased . Had to swap my Hatsan pump action for a Baikal o/u as a 2nd rifle meant I needed to stash a shotgun in my breakdown cabinet .

Stick a big cardboard target on a fence and have a mess about , they shoot very differently and lower than un moderated guns in my experience .
