welsh1
He chose his profession, and knows all the risks, good luck to him.As for the troops around him i would think an apache base will be fairly well guarded. It's good to see that he is willing to do the job he was trained to do.
fenboy
Great I say , its good to see the younger royals actually getting stuck into there chosen careers and besides it will keep him out of trouble !!
libs
As much as the Apache seems untouchable, and we have never lost one in combat I can't see this information in the media as a good thing... I'm sure all low level Taliban leaders will have been offered huge monetary incentives to try and bring this type of aircraft down in the hope of injuring or killing Harry. I just hope the Taliban do not get access to better tools to take on the helicopters in light of this new information. I'm all for him doing his job but it does not need to be plastered all over the papers and news.

Gordon R
I don't have much time for them, but he - along with the rest of the Forces - is serving his country. Good luck to him and his colleagues.

Fisherman Mike
would you care if he was an ordinary squaddie? stupid remark of the day. Why so.. Thats just the point hes not just an ordinary squaddie hes 3rd in line to the throne....do you all really believe he will be flying sorties that take him anywhere near any chance of putting his life into danger. ? not in a million years.. he will probably fly a couple of sorties , kick up a bit of dust.... the newspapers will say he came close to hostilities when he was probably 75 miles away and everyone will proclaim him a brave national hero, a royal doing his bit for the cause....like I said smoke and Mirrors. Good for Morale of the lads and thats about all. I suppose he could lift his kilt like in cary on up the Kyber...but the taliban have seen all that in the mail anyway. Should ****** off out of it and let the professionals do the job.

He passed the course to fly apache,it's not like driving a car,he is top of the tree in the attack helicopter world,so i think that would make him very professional. He wasn't 75 miles 'behind the lines' but right in the thick of it. I doubt Harry will be any different.

The last member of the Royal family who actually got into the thick of it was Richard the Third in 1485.. officerdibble777
In all honesty,I think he's probably kept a better more able man from getting the training and job .Any chance of real combat will be left to others

Cottonseed
Good luck to the lad just wants to do his bit Yep, and I'll bet he's as frustrated as hell that the powers that be probably will not let him do anything too risky. I've heard from soldiers who've worked with him that he's a decent lad with no airs and graces. I imagine he'd welcome the chance to get stuck in and do exactly what he's trained for. By suggesting he'll be wrapped in cotton wool you are knocking him. I think you underestimate his determination to do his job.
