pigeon controller
Started out at 09.00 on Saturday morning today, we could only shoot one day this week due to half term holidays. as we drove out of the town we were confronted by thick fog. What made it strange was that the wind was strong from the south west but it was still foggy . We tried to look but it was hopeless as nobirds fly in fog . We sat it out and had a brew and it started the lift and we picked up on a flightline travelling due south not into wind at all, it lead us to an old wheat stubble field we had shot three weeks before . As we arrived all the field lifted and dispeared in to the distance and we thought it was being shot but we saw a guy with a hawk walking across the public footpath across the field and he carried on to anther farm. We gave a quick phone to the farmer and go the OK and set up with the wind to our back and waited and the birds started to return straight away. we shot from 13.00 to 16.00 and picked up one hundred and thiry five pigeons and eight crows . The birds that we shot had a variety of food in them from hawthorns, oats, wheat and barley.
