Redwood
Hi all, I'm looking to purchase a new jacket, I'm after one that I can use for shooting and for everday wear so I'v been looking and plain green jackets. Have found a company called Sherwood forest and I quite like the look for those kensingon jackets but I can't find any reviews of it or the company on google or pigeon watch. Has anyone owned this jacket or anything made by Sherwood and know of the qaulity? Their prices are high enought that it needs to be good to justifie buying it but cheap enough compared to some other makes to make me wonder why there cheap. Thanks for any replys, will be checking back regulary to see what you guys think. Redwood. ( sorry if there are any spelling/grammar/formating errors I don't have access to a computer so I'm having to post from my iPod and can't work out how to make it scroll back over what I've written. Walker56
I noticed in our local Charlie's store they stocked Sherwood forest coats the one I looked at seemed well made can't remember which style name the coat was nor can I tell you if it would stand up to everyday or shooting use. You could try Charlie's website for info on them.

huffhuff
I have a pair of sherwood waterproof trousers that I bought at a game fair a few years back. They are nice and warm, fit well and are still waterproof. The only issue is the fly unzips on occasion, but only because I got some material caught in it previously. They are also reasonably quite being made of a soft material. Hope that helps
polester
My Missis has a Kirton jacket and she rates it's wind proof and warm maybe a bit to warm on some days. Has loads of pockets and comes with a few spare poppers . The only thing she doesn't like about it is that there is no hood

welshwarrior
I've had one of their Kensington jackets for 4-5 years now. It's very warm only ever wear a short under it. I wear it with jean in to town moleskins on driven days or stalking its great. It's a spare coat for me i normally wear a tweed jacket to shoot in but when space is tight or I need a casual jacket and a shooting coat it's my go to. Redwood
Thanks for the quick responses lads, sounds like it might be better qaulity than I was expecting, I prefere not to wear jackets unless its raining very heavy or is expremely cold so the fact that its a very warm jacket might not be an issue, will have to see if I can find a local stockist so I cam have a look for myself. Does anyone know how well of stands up to brambles ext. Wounding I'd also be able to use it beating. Regards redwood

darren 67
Marsh farm country supplies sell them i think and they usually got some deals on so may be worth a look on their web site. I have one and wear it all the time shooting beating and down the local market no funny looks as yet so must be acceptable in all situations. Hope you get sorted which ever you choose any way. T-Bolt94
I also have a Galdwell and it was well worth the money...very good on the super cold days. Probably a bit warm for those iffy summer days/spring days . Buying a pair of kensington waterproof trousers. All in all I would recommend.,
humperdingle
Gadwall by Sherwood Forest Very nice.
DAVE_B
My wife has one of Sherwoods, shooting jacket which she rates very highly, comfortable, waterproof, breathable, loads of pockets. And most especially good value. Worth giving Clay Shooting R Us (near Thame) a ring as they seem to regularly carry Sherwood and (if they have what you want) their prices are always keen. I am probably going to by a similar jacket when I am next there.

Redwood
thanks for all the replys guys, think I might order one soon. Any ideas if any of the country/outdoor shops do January sales? Thinking it might be worth waiting a few months if I could get a much better deal. Sounds like I might finally have found my perfect jacket lol.
