kent
All semi autos can jam, just dont clean them and find some shells yours dont like. I dont notice the sx3 cycle its too fast but i sure get the bang-chunk with the older silver mallards etc i have used over the years. in practice you need to test and be sure of any shells in an auto before you compete with it keep the action all clean including the gas piston and mag tube. the actual gun is down to the individual and how it feels in thier hands
sitsinhedges
As I've said many times, just look what most serious clay shooters use and what most Argentina high volume dove shooters use and you will end up with a Beretta 391 just like them. Bloke
+1 , it's Christmas in a few weeks go on treat yourself to something nice , the Benelli super sport does look nice as well hope it's in santas sack for me :D Love mine, yes they do kick a bit more than a gas semi, but nowhere near as much as a o/u, and being synthetic, they are ok in the wet. Mind you, the porting on the barrel makes them seem very loud, make your ears ring if you are to the side with just plugs in
Salop Matt
I use a semi auto for everything I do shooting wise (clays and pest and game). My semi-auto of choice is the benelli m2 which is a stunning bit of kit and works great and I would recomend benelli to anyone over any other brand ! BerettaSV10
I've used an A400 on everything for over 2 years.Firstly I'm pretty sure the A300 is not entirely the same action as the A400. My appologies I was going off info from some one who had a A300 outlander and looks like the info was wrong. :(
Catweazle
I'm left handed, the Benelli can be a bit of a flamethrower apparently. I've seen some small flames from my A400, but nothing like the Benelli. Here's a comparison.
Salop Matt
Ive only had 1 good flame from mine which is no different to my dads browning ! I think its something all semis will do very occasionally and nothing specific to Beenelli, this is the first time ive herd about it ! chrispti
The only down side to the 391's is they have been discontinued. A mate has the A400 extreme, bloody nice it is too.
blasterjudd
Hi Oddjob Not spoken in a while or seen u in the field at Stebbing? I wouldnt buy a Benelli not as nice to shoot as the Berettas or Winchester out their, they are aesy to clean but recoil more. Ive got a few semis and recommended a gas ported version over the benellis Benellis feel nicer and smaller in the hand but will have more barrel flip than any Beretta etc Good luck in your purchase Cheers SX3 is lovely my friend has one in cammo 3 months old like new and i think its up for grabs, i know your close to us in Dunmow if u r interested? oscarsdad
Biased but I would suggest the Maxus - lovely to shoot but as mentioned they are long so mine doesn't fit in the cabinet without breaking it down.

OddJob
I went along to a couple of gun shops to have a look today and swing a few around. I think the idea of it being my main gun was a little bit hopeful. The SX3 I found a little small in the stock and meant mounting was strange. The outlander was good, the Benelli likewise, but not quite right, it felt a little long and front heavy In the end, I got tempted by the one thing that I did not think I wanted: a 687S but it was a bargain price. A nice bit of wood and a price tag that meant I can pick up a cheap Hatsan for occasional pigeon use. Thanks for all the feedback, it was really helpful in critiquing each gun. BerettaSV10
Nowt wrong with the hatsan (long as its a good one) surprised me what they are like, using mine most of the time.

EdSolomons
For clays the only one worth looking at is a beretta 390 or 391. Can be easily customised and handling is very workable for serious clay work. Benellis are far too light/fast handling, and kick a bit more. Can bring my 32" 391 for you to have a shot with when I pop down to see you if you like!
alros01
Hi I've had a lot of semi autos I like them better than the over and unders.at the moment I have a benelli m2 and a beretta teknys gold sporter.ive had the old a391 urika and the urika two with the kick off but if I was going to buy another semi auto I'd get another teknys gold

Not sure if we'll have the time and I've settled with a 687 in the end. And 32" semi... You must almost be able to bat them out of the sky with the bead!
