Galls me now to think how much of this stuff I've thrown away i know what you mean, had the middle daughter move back home a few months back and we were scrabbling around for bubble wrap for the crockery, she paid something like £1.50 a metre, i managed to get some broken jablite sheets from site and a few bits when they fitted out the rooms. have you considered being a bit of a ***** and rummaging in business waste bins? depends on how much you need i know but i think they'd be happy to help as it reduces their waste bill. Might try that, its just for a present of Playmobil for my boy. Its second hand and unboxed so I wanted to use the stuff so he had to dig around in the box I put it in to find all the bits.
