mad1
Yeah .. How about some cheap fishing rods and they pull apart in middle to make it easier to handle and store
Mr Rizzini
I feel that the fishing rods wouldn't be as strong as they are hollow.

My mate has bought rods off them, and they are good quality. http://www.ecfibregl...od-6mm-dia.aspx They quoted me £19.00 delivery as they said royal mail won't deliver them because they are to long I thought even royal mail could cope with 1 meter lengths of fibreglass

fenboy
Unless your planning on joining 2 together 1 meter is not really long enough by the time its pushed into the ground.

Catweazle
I made some out of poles sold for DIY kitemaking, but they were too flexible and the birds started to weave side to side in the wind until they turned over. 1/4" steel rod works well. Bobba
Try kite stores if there is one in your area. The one here in Bristol has a wide range of fibreglass poles.
Catweazle
Try kite stores if there is one in your area. The one here in Bristol has a wide range of fibreglass poles. The problem I had with kite poles is that they twist too much. Instead of the pigeons bobbing up and down they started doing figure 8 shapes as the wind caught them. Like a bloody aerobatic team until eventually they were moving so much they flipped right over.
Mr Rizzini
6mm fibreglass kite rods are perfect and the pigeons flipping is down to bad design on the cradle m8. I now have mine sorted and will include a step by step soon

GH I dont see why he can't post them via parcel force or something, I shouldn't cost £19 for a 1 metre rod that way a few grams.

I now have mine sorted and will include a step by step soon I look forward to it. Mine worked perfectly when I swapped the carbon fibre for 1/4" mild steel rod. I don't make their rules for them!! Having said that I used to send two floaters out in the same box for £5.60(ish), certainly not £19. That's a rip off!!
