jason kaye
Just nearly got rid of mine,in fact I advertised on here, but come to my senses with a bit of persuasion from the wife, because I know how I woud feel as soon as the nice weather arrives, there's just something about being out on a bike in the sunshine I just can't put my finger on,wheeling out of the garage and firing it up,putting my leathers on and heading out to who knows where? as for being dangerous I suppose if we want stay 100% safe we could all stay in bed wrapped up in a douvet, but where's the living in that.Jase. Oh and how you all doing on your crotchrockets in the snow by the way? That's the spirit! Positive attitude! And some crotchrockets go quite well in the snow - ask your brother or boss about a CRF450 or WR450 next time you're riding bitch with them
Chr15j
Only ever once ridden 'bitch' never again. Accelleration was amazing and I loved it, decelleration (not even braking) scared the carp out of me!

Stick to your little tin box mate I'm sure the sense of being nice and safe(albeit a false one) will help you sleep at night ,all tucked up safe and sound,oh and don't forget next Friday the 13th don't leave the house at all ,just to be sure and heaven forbid those ladders ,please, please give them a wide berth, you may not live longer by not taking any risks, but it'll sure seem like you do. Chr15j
Its not a FALSE sense of safety, its a statistical fact.
Rimfireboy
I posted this in the off topic forum and its definitely gone off topic. This was about custom helmets, if I wanted a lesson in road safety I'd have posted on a different website, and anyway, I use that helmet for karting. I like shooting and I like motorcycling. Anti shooters/anti bikers, what's the difference? They've already decided they don't like bikes so that's that and bikes are bad. Just like the anti shooters have decided that guns are bad. Because they don't like them they think nobody else should either. All they do is spout off statistics about something they don't really understand. Jokers. Chr15j
Nope not hse, just sensible. Don't hate bikes, just wouldn't own one. Knock yourself out but don't try to deny bikes are more dangerous than cars
evo
correct me if i,m wrong but i,m sure there is more idiots in cars than on bikes
Luckyshot
Every bike that I have ever owned has been sold in this condition. Every car I have ever owned has been sold in this condition Which one is safest ? Bikes are dangerous but so are cars. Oh nice lid by the way. m3vert
So luckyshot either: A. youve only had that one car or B. you are one unlucky guy!! Which is it?? Please dont try and argue that bikes are safer than cars! Yes there are idoits driving both but on the whole if you are in an accident you WILL come off worse on a bike for sure! Each to their own which mode of transport you prefer but lets not kid ourselves on mate
m3vert
LOL at Rimfireboys comments on post 60! first off Im surprised your allowed to wear that at a karting circuit as our local one wouldnt let you with that visor. I aint anti biker, in fact alot of my mates are bikers and I can see why they love it I really can. I have had some fast cars over the years and know that none of them can come close to the speed of most half decent bikes. However having considered owning a bike a few times the notion seems to very quickly leave me when I attend an RTC with bike v car. Yes we also attend many (far more RTC involving just cars) but the difference is in the injuries sustained by the rider v the driver. For that reason I personally do not think the benefits outway the risk for me, my family are far to important for me to consider getting a bike! A good mate of mine has a seriously quick race prepared BMW superbike, he ships it to many circuits including Jerez to play with and even he wont ride on the road as in his words "its just to dangerous". If you enjoy it fine go for it but like anything you will find others that dont enjoy or like it, doesnt make them jokers mate B) If you put something up in here be prepared for it to go off topic as it always does Safe riding! Yes, they do or did let me use the dark visor on the karting track. Haven't been for a couple of years though. And again, yet another lecture on road safety. You're not telling anybody anything they don't already know. There was just no need for all this anti bike stuff, that's all. I digress. bruno22rf
There is,in my opinion, very little common ground between cars and bikes. The majority of cars are for transport while bikes seem to be an expensive toy. There are exceptions of course but there is little that can beat the sight or sound of a Superbike ticking over in front of you as you get your kit on-the Adrenalin is waiting for you-the amount is controlled by your right hand.Bin biking for 33 years and I honestly dont know how I would feel without a bike-you dont even need to ride it sometimes, just seeing her there is a buzz. Luckyshot
So luckyshot either: A. youve only had that one car or B. you are one unlucky guy!! Which is it?? Must be unlucky then. Had 7 cars each one ended like the above. Out of 12 bikes never wrote one off yet. Please dont try and argue that bikes are safer than cars! Yes there are idoits driving both but on the whole if you are in an accident you WILL come off worse on a bike for sure! Each to their own which mode of transport you prefer but lets not kid ourselves on mate From my experince "ONLY" bikes for me have been far safer. When I managed to get dragged out of that car above I had a broken leg broken pelvis 2 broken arms broken jaw broken neck in two places and lost the use of my right hand for 9 moths (nerve damage) so Ile let you make your own mind up. Never had a bike for a few years now though as its hard to enjoy them legally on uk roads.
keg
As with all areas of life there are good uns and bad uns. I am not anti bike but i regularly use the A65 up to the lakes and on a sunny Sunday as i get close to Devils Bridge at Kirby Lonsdale, there are always a few idiots that sit in your blind spot or pull out as you have already checked, checked again and then start to pull out yourself, suddenly 3 abreast. I'm not a boy racer and am normally in my 90. On the motorway, if i see a bike coming up the side of me in slow moving traffic, i try and move over to let them pass and normally get a thumbs up. When i can see one each side in each mirror i do get wazzed off a little. According to the traffic police, it's the BABs that cause most problems, been used to a fizzy or a superdream 250, get the family out of the way then get something a lot bigger and faster but can't handle it.
