Dan.lord
Quick question, when I load the cartridge magazine, the cartridge sticks out the end as in pic below, On my S/A it remains flush. It doesn't seem to cause any cycling problems, I let off a few at the range & it worked faultlessly. I was just wondering if this is how it's meant to be Cheers Dan. Dan.lord
Hi Dan My Savage Pictured above is exactly the same I think it is designed that way Cheers Neil Cheers Neil, I noticed that there is a metal thingy that sticks out near where the cartridge head sits, I'm thinking it might be a bit worn , so's not catching the cartridge properly. Anyway as said it don't affect the operation so i'l leave it be Cheers Again Dan

Yorkshireandy
Probably been asked before but I've just got a second hand mossberg 500 20g hushpower. It's not very old and has hardly been used. Are they steel proofed barrels? Not the hushpower one but the standard 26" accu choke barrels? thepasty
How you getting on with the c-lect choke? Seeing that reminds me of my old 24" 9 shot
Caravanman
Only picked her up today so not had a chance to try. Will give the clect choke a good try soon although not with my favourite Rio Royals as they will not feed into the magazine.

Caravanman
Very nice. Have you had any issues with loading certain brands of cartridge into the magazine?

Caravanman
Rio Royals will not fit in the mag. It seems to be the brass sticking.

Wharf Rat
Rio Royals will not fit in the mag. It seems to be the brass sticking. I use Rios in mine all the time. The mag tubes can rust and collect gunge at the making it a bit hard to fed carts into though. GT85 through the hole exposed by removing the the captive barrel bolt, and a bit of wet and dry followed by a clean-ish rag. They are ctough, but even I clean mine throughout every two years/3000 carts or so.
Caravanman
Its just the Royals. All the others seem fine but I will give a liberal spray into the mag tube.
Caravanman
Pattern tested the blunderbuss today and quite impressed with the clect choke. Went for a mooch round the woods, slipped barrel first into very soft mud! End of play and off home to clean it!!!!

thepasty
thats not the mossberg spirit! a quick field strip would of had that sorted in a couple minutes. The cleaning of mine consisted of throwing it in a river on the way home...
Caravanman
It only took 2 mins when I got home. Need to put the boresnake back in my cartridge bag.
TbirdX
I've today become a double pump club member, picked up a rather bargainous 2nd Ithaca M37 for the princely sum of 125 sterlings. It's a bit knocked about but hopefully it'll fire just fine. Pick it up Saturday and will shoot it Sunday all being well :-)
TbirdX
I lied, managed to pick it up today. Best as I can tell it was made in 62. Its the upper one. Shorter foregrip, no rib and no chequering on the stock compared to my other M37. Hopefully will get to have a bang on Sunday :-)
