impala59
Hi Steve Glad the wood suits you, the 37 and new lady friend! Look forward to pic's as and when. May be down your neck of the woods next month, maybe meet up for a half? (I'm a bit of a light weight with the beer!)
Craig83
I love my pump action all though new to it, I have used a pump action before but that's only hitting targets no more than 15m away. Shooting pigeons with it is a whole new ball game. Why are pumps a lot cheaper than semis?

impala59
It has been said by some of my shooting friends that I am the Battersea dogs home for pump guns and I guess it must be true as my latest acquisition (Stevens Mod 77) is not only an unwanted stray but has been very badly abused. Have you ever seen such appalling welding (pic 2 ) ? It appears that it was welded in situ, possibly because the perpetrator did not know how to take the gun down, no excuse though. Also, the action was almost glued up and the recoil pad looks as though the mice have been at it! Still, the wood can be saved and as a project it is certainly a challenge! Scully
Just looking at a Winchester 1300 xtr in vgc. Can anybody tell me if this is a decent pump and if i do get it, can i join pump club. One of the best in my opinion. Had a S1 for a while and only let it go because it was getting a bit tatty. Would have another tomorrow, but after years of looking I have just today found my ideal little rough/bolting bunny/hide/throw over my shoulder/sling in the back of the Landy pump! It's a S1 synthetic Mossberg 500 12 bore Slugster with a 24" fixed choke at cylinder barrel, and even comes complete with vented heat shield as per trench gun! It just called to me from the gun rack! flyeruk
https://www. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XYLu8FVg9Y Took the SXP up to my field today and put 120 carts through her. Really love this gun. Have added a clip of me shooting going away clays. Think I missed 1 before the trap ran out of clays. Thought I would add, shooting doesn't start till I minute in,faffing about before that. Edited August 29, 2016 by flyeruk
Craig83
Iv just been out with mine, can't believe a cheap cheap gun can be shot so easy by a novice My Corvids only need the full 5 cartridges and they come down 😂😂😂
impala59
Thought I'd update the pump club with the Valtro PM5 and mods done 1, Shield ring and dot sight 2, 5mw daylight green laser 3, Stock shell carrier (for those odd last shot moments) 4, Magazine extensions, have found optimum max load is 9 with standard spring (only follower goes into extended box) 5, Lower picatinny rail on fore-end with front vertical grip 6, Rubber picatinny rail covers over all sharp areas 7, Extended action release button forward of and below trigger guard 8, Extended, ambidextrous rear magazine catch release (magazines now roll out without weak hand assistance) 9, Modified spring loaded forward magazine catch (from 'rock and lock' to push straight in) 10, Bevelled magazine well to assist locating mag (bevelled area also protects the original receiver opening from damage) fitted with M5 bolts and ny-locs in place of drift pins 11, Forward slide assist spring This is still a work in progress and I am currently working on a stainless steel replacement forward mag catch and feed ramp to improve the load/unload characteristics and strength All Mods can be removed and the gun returned to standard in about 5 minutes, there has been no drilling or filing of the firearm The forward mag catch and feed ramp

Sco77w
Im looking for a S2 remington 870, anything about? I don't want to spend a fortune but don't mind it being a bit rough as I have spares from my S1 870. May also consider a Mossberg too if cheap. Scrumbag
Dear fellow pumpers. Is it possible to get a 24" smoothbore barrel with rifle sights for a Remington 870? IF so, where can one be had?

Rimfireboy
Any of you guys been yelled at for using a pump on clays? I've been reprimanded for pumping in the living room whilst watching tv sometimes......depending on the aftermath. Not yelled at though. impala59
No, rarely use anything other than a pump for clays. As a rule, I always speak to the people running a shoot prior to the first stand. It has to be said that there is some, maybe snobbery, but in the main I have found that safe practices and talking to fellow shooters usually wins them over. To the point sometimes of them wanting a go! A fast double with a pump is very satisfactory when achieved

ChAoS
Any of you guys been yelled at for using a pump on clays? Never had a problem but I only shoot sporting. I've used pump-, bolt-, lever- and martini-action shotguns. I do, though, always *ask* if it's OK to use an S.1 gun. (Only ever had one refusal after 'phoning to ask, so I didn't go there again.) Regards, Mark.
