ordnance
I will shoot adult or cubs without hesitation Why would that be. ?
GingerCat
Farmer goes mad if I shoot one, they keep the rabbits down that eat his crops, on occasion I must say the odd one accidentally walked into a Shot or two aimed for a rabbit. Honest.
colin lad
one farmer i shoot for says the only good fox is a dead one, another who only has arable dont want them shooting so i go with what they want as its their call colin
castletyne
Why would that be. ? We have a game shoot and a fox can cause big problems plus i really enjoy a nights lamping

scolopax
Most of the time but not all of the time. If it is game shooting ground then they tend to get shot, although even that depends on the landowners wishes. Some game shooting ground is/was also fox hunting country. ging125
If it's a safe shot, always!! Dairy farmers don't like them much as their poop can cause spontaneous aborsion in cattle!

kent
I have sometimes seen foxes whilst shooting pigeons, I have even had then rob a shot bird on more than one occasion. However, I would never shoot foxy on such occasions. I also refuse to shoot foxes on driven bird days. If I am paying £1000+ a day to shoot, it is the keepers job, not mine. We have 700 sheep and have never had problems with foxy, so I would be hard pushed to find a reason to kill one. And, the fox is part of our countryside I would hate to lose. So, would you always shoot foxy, or are you happy to leave him alone if he isn't a problem for you?? There are circumstances were the fox can be a friend. I shoot duck on one venue and they act as a back -up to the dogs, you don't see many cripples about which is good because its right next to a reserve. Also if you shooting arable without any Game or other important wildlife to protect they can help keep rabbits down. Too many creatures are slaughtered because the shooter can and I admire your view
ordnance
The way i would look at it is the fox has as much right to live in the countryside as any other creature.
Big Mat
On the small farm i shoot over near mine, the farmer expects me to shoot them on site! I let two cubs go one day because i knew the keeper next door would get them and i didnt want to shoot them myself!
Reece
Do fox have any naural predators besides humans? Not over here I don't think. Lynx are effective predators apparently, but we don't have them anymore.

WGD
I shoot every fox I get the chance to because wherever I am shooting there is game or livestock on which the fox has a negative impact. A vixen about half an hour ago will testify to my beliefs...

Is it your game and livestock. If so fair enough. If not you enjoy killing foxes that's is also fair enough i just don't get it when people come up with all sorts of reasons for shooting them why not just say that they enjoy killing them. My game yes, my livestock no but I am there to do the job at the request of the farmer (sheep, lambing outside). And yes I enjoy killing foxes. And pheasants. And rabbits. And pigeons. And deer. And ducks. And everything else I shoot.

At least you are being honest. I would shoot rabbits etc if i was hungry but not because i like killing wildlife.
WGD
With the exception of foxes, everything I shoot gets eaten. Not to justify my enjoying shooting it, but wasting life of any kind is not to my taste.
aris
IMHO killing food you are going to eat (such as rabbits) is a bit more honest than buying it from the supermarket.

guest1957
I wouldn't refuse to shoot one on a driven shoot if it were safe. It is respectful to the keeper.
ordnance
I gather you dont shoot live animals then I used to shoot most things that moved and were legal to shoot now just targets.
foggy011983
I leave foxs as long as they don't cause a problem. If they start causing problems with livestock, birds etc then I'll step in. most the fields i shoot are arable so there is no advantage shooting them as they keep the rabbit numbers down.
