Rotary Speed Reducing

Evening gentlemen,

i got given a fairly beaten up rotary and car battery today at long last! :yahoo: and fair to say no matter what people are saying about them becoming useless, id like to give it a go! the only thing is, ti spins like its a heli trying to take off! it goes so fast, i believe two pigeons look ridiculous on it going at 100mph, so my question is...

how do i effectively reduce the speed? i think that a standard speed controller should do the trick, but please correct me if im wrong!

and also, its a rather fetching bright green for some unknown reason, could someone recommend a suitable paint?

If I recall correctly, and I stand to be corrected, there a re a few terminals at the back of the motor, bayonet type, and by altering the connections from one terminal to another this will slow down /or speed up the controller.

Over to the experts for a more difinitive description.

Absolutely right.

By moving a single wire between two terminals and the magnet would alter in speed.
