Aled
Got to tell you this although i am aware this is a UKip forum: Witnessed a miracle this morning. An MP (Liam Byrne i think) actually said something i aggreed with he said along the lines of " i dont think the UK voter is totally sure who to vote for at the moment as it does not appear any of the main political parties are putting out messages in a way that is appealing to voters" Couldnt agree more at the moment they are all pretty cr*p! (which maybe is why UKip have had a good day?) Blimey and MP talking sense dont see that very often!Tight Lines Aled Edited May 3, 2013 by Aled

Gordon R
Conservative chairman Grant Shapps said: ‘People have sent a message, we get it, we hear what people are saying, people are concerned that we get on with the big issues facing hard-working people in this country, like fixing the economy, sorting out the welfare system, helping hard-working people to get on. This man could be in the running for the most out of touch, stupid person in politics. He just hasn't grasped that those are not the issue. Yep.....those speaking on the radio this aft' weren't any better.None so blind as those who wont see. They were rambling on about just about every issue except the issues that most people have voted UKIP for. Amazing! because in our blighted PC world we cant accept immigration is not a racist issue, and as our supposed leaders are eurofiles they fail to see that average bloke in the street wants as much to do with europe as a dose of clap. bikemad24
if nigel farage makes politicians wake up realize just how ****** of we are with them, then that will do for me. its time the working class had a voice. whether you like him or not he will do a lot of good to politics in the whole, surely know one can disagree with that?. Oli
This man could be in the running for the most out of touch, stupid person in politics. He just hasn't grasped that those are not the issue. But it is the issue though, the root cause of immigration isnt that england is such an amazing place full of people like you and me that romaniagrants and other people want to come and live in and next to just because we are cool, its because we have such a socialist system. Increasing border forces and stopping immigration at source isnt the solution and will just increase the tax bill back to the tax payer and compound the problem of debt and a book that already doesnt balance. They'll get in anyway. A return to laissez faire economics is the way forward imo, reduce the civil service overhead, make the NHS a front line service i.e. a&e free and then insurance for inpatient services, reduce the welfare state, the dole should be no different to an insurance policy, sack people who cant do the job in the civil service dont duplicate roles to compensate for incompetence, make it a zero sum game to come to the country unless you are here to work and live and have the same policy for those that already live here. That way you dont need to have polarized political views, i.e. left wing/right wing whatever... you can be equitable and liberal and conservative in the way you manage a country. My desperation with the current political class is that they arent addressing the real issues, look at the ridonculously over inflated house market that is going to bend our children over a barrel of debt and shaft them with interest payments for the rest of our life, rather than let market forces control it the govt debase the daylights out of the currency, shafting every single one of us over and therefore pumps a market at its peak with low interest debt because they know that falling house prices is a vote loser, this subsequently encourages those already in the BTL market to extend portfolios meaning a generation of sink hole estates with rented propertys, either the crash will come eventually or the pound will be worth so little we wont use pennys anymore in 10 years time, the net effect is the same if wages stagnate... We need courageous leaders who are prepared to address the real causes and not the symptoms because it plays well into the media, i voted ukip, i have quite liberal views but i also believe in lassez faire economics and a reduced state performing only simple functions. Labour, liberals and conservatives have all failed me so i wasnt really left with much choice.

Oli
But which way will you vote in the GENERAL ELECTION when protest votes will be pointless spoilers and allow the wrong lot in? Its a good question and the honest answer is i dont know yet, ill have to see what each party is proposing. The sickening thing is that partys aren't held accountable to their manifesto's, i wish there was some kind of legal accountability for that. Oli
Yes, they get away with that because the vast majority of people have poor memories! Frustrating isnt it, it is nice to see another party challenging the status quo though and i hope it leads to others coming into politics from a non traditional point of view, in this day and age i really believe that the solutions lie in moving away from these polarized points of view that being liberal means you have to be pro immigration etc. etc. I must say after a crappy week of work and probably more to come this weekend PW is a good place for a rant 15 hour days all week this week, but just got away for a nice pub meal and a few jars with the wife, it would seem the local has been inspired by master chef lol. KW I voted ukip yesterday, tories are meant to be right wing but they couldnt be more liberal. I voted for thatcher as my first vote in 1987, hoodie hugger was my last tory vote in 2010. Austerity? Spending is at the blair levels of 2007. I agree that the tories are a one term party if they dont get a new leader and pronto.

KW its not a protest vote. ukip have a full manifesto, all parties start somewhere, little acorns to big oaks and all that. Oli
My own vote was border line protest but not entirely, i want to see Farage stir things up and i want to see accessibility into the system to enable political choice. Im intrested to see how his party can develop. However if they do become a representation of the Right in its worse form then they will become unelectable in my eyes. The best thing about it though, in all the years of being a voter its the first time ive actually been tempted to have a chat with a few politicians at their meetings. That is just because there is finally some competition and choice.
