how does Anjem Choudary continue to get benefits of £25,000.00 per year when the rest of us have to make do on less and have to work? what would happen if he was told "get a job"? human rights comes to mind

It's not just him, I know some serial white British, violent, lazy, druggy, lobotomy candidates who do the same.

true its called playing the game, however the average brit does not condemn the hand that feeds in quite the same way.

This is why they vote labour, soft on benefits. And as he was a solicitor, im sure he could work if he wanted to. As mentioned though, plenty play the system

I know of a woman who was claiming disability, then they switched her to job seekers because they deemed her fit for work. She tried appealing, saying that she couldn't work because she has diabetes. A friend of mine has the type 1 injection diabetes and works 2 jobs!

Unless he goes by a different name he isn't on the roll anymore

25k a year mmmmm doesnt make going to work for minimum wage look that attractive does it

so whats the problem then is it the level of benefit or the level of the min wage ?

dont know but at £6.31 per hour you get £13124.8 before tax per year based on 40 hour week . you tell me

well I will give you a little clue, big companies such as tesco and asda etc make billions and we as taxpayers subsidise their employees in the form of tax credit, so it would seem the min wage is deemed not enough to live on.

Should you live we'll though, there always have been poor people hence council housing and benefits its purely add up what you can get and it seems excessive to those paying for it, it's the people on it deliberately that is the issue.

13k or 25k which would you opt for? to be honest i dont think many people outside london make 25k from benefits

Bitter about what?

I agree the exceptions, and extremes need sorting, I find it incredulous that the millions of natives doing the same are ignored.

This is just another Muslim attack by proxy.

I've not generalised at all, am I diverse? Sometimes.

this is a previous quote from a channel 4 interview, it does show a ah hem slight difference to the average scuffer does it not.

With breathtaking cynicism, Choudary instructs his recruits that it is their Muslim duty to claim benefits, ensuring they make no contribution to the ‘enemy’ British state through taxation.

The ‘Sheik’ leads by example. Now separated from his wife and three children, for years he has received more than £1,700 a month in benefits — which he once referred to as ‘Jihad seekers allowance’.

Probably explains why he is so bitter about the world lol.

Hmm i am not so sure. Although its obvious and very public about his intentions. Many families have the same idea. there has been generations on benefits. Reach 16, have a baby... Own house. Kids do the same. It repeats.

At work, we currently deal with a woman, with 7 children, which we worked out, gets 25,000 in her hand alone each year! Thats before housing benefits etc.

There was also a person that refused a gastric band because he said it would affect his benefits. Absolutely shocking. Whats worse is he gets a brand new car every year because he's fat! Walking to the shops would do him some good!

Its a shame people exploit the system. Especially for the honest person thats genuinely lost his job and is looking for work.

Benefits should be a safety net but they become too comfortable, that's the problem. My cousin is a good example, he's a good man but after a couple of years on the dole (after a redundancy) he just settled into the lifestyle, you could see it was happening. If you get into that sort of rut you can start to stack one benefit on top of another. He has sciatica, well so have I, it should not have stopped him working but some doctor put him on the sick and that was his ticket punched for life.

His wife has arthritis and she's on the sick now too. They get a mobility car and he is her carer on carers allowance. She could work, Ok her options may be limited but my options are limited, most people's options are limited.

Its a one way street and that's a fact, once you are on it the system keeps you on it. It is all too easy. I'm sure in my own mind that all those years ago, had they said to him "You've got a year on the dole to sort yourself out and they it stops" his life would have turned out very differently.

The point I would like to make is its the system that draws people into benefits dependency and professionals like social workers, doctors, council workers, civil servants etc have a vested interest in not rocking the boat.
