Yeah, but seem a bit more realistic than the hyperflaps that most rave about.

Never seen or tried either type myself, but been tempted.

What has realism got to do with decoying Wood Pigeons?

How often have you witnessed a pair of REAL birds flying in 2 metre circles for several hours at a time?

I bet if someone offered to sell you a pair of "pigeony lookalike" decoys with "wingy" looking bits with a tail on it OR a pair of "grey / white" socks, and both were GUARANTEED to work exactly the same, giving the same results, you would leave the socks there.

It's called power of persuasion.

EDIT TO ADD - so no-one tried the Pro Flaps then ?

I use a pair of Hypaflaps, either on the magnet or on bouncers, as has been said many times on this forum "All the new stuff is to atract the shooter, NOT the wood pigeon"!

They are a shell decoy with wings on.Waste of money might as well make your own if you want to try them.

what you guys( and I'm sure most of you do).. have to remember,to think like a pigeon... he is way up in the sky, he doesn't know the bird on the ground is just a shell, he's looking at the flash of wing bar, a bird landing or moving about in the crop? maybe worth investingating? I own a decoy animation company, which basically means we make decoys flap. and I can tell you, we use the Uk shootwarehouse hypaflapper.all the time. it looks brilliant from above. AND at an angle... proflap has a really eye catching movemen too.. They are not 'a waste of time' they work, and are a good investment. although we all know, everything doesnt always go to plan no matter what we do!.... If you have the time, materials, inclination and ability, yes, make your own it's so rewarding. but If not give the imitation deeks a try. think about how may cartridges you shoot in one decoying session and the cost... and once used they are gone.! your decoy will last you a lot longer.

Has anyone seen the flightline decoy things on ebay lately? We have used something similar, a length of metal rod with a spring in the middle, this created all the movement without a spending a £50. Ours were no good on still days but, we don't tend to shoot many still days.

The flightline Decoys one, you are talking about, is designed to animate the birds wings on windless days, that's the idea. the hypaflapper looks brilliant on one.
