aister
I have had the spring in the piston go on mine twice but my SX3 is used a lot, and the only times my SX3 has failed to cycle it has been due to lack of cleaning. If I was buying another auto it would certainly be an SX3.
wildfowler.250
Bro loves his. I've got the maxus but its pretty similar. SX3 tends not to cycle the cartridges less than 70mm and,(providing the correct cartridge kength) the only time it doesn't cycle is when he hasn't cleaned it enough

Big Mat
Just invested in one myself, heard lots of good stuff about them Did you get the black or the camo?
Reabrook
I have one and wouldn't change it. The only thing I've ever known it not cycle was 24g clay cartridges. It gets hammered through the season with little or no maintenance and never misses a beat.

wildfowler.250
Get the maxus, the speed loading is sweet
craig 123
Is there any diffrance between them?
wildfowler.250
not a huge ammount, they are essentially very similar The maxus has a speed loading feature and is quicker to unload. Plus you have the ability to lock the magazine when the gun is loaded and change the shell in the chamber,(eg a quick swap of a no.6 to a no. 3) without emptying the whole gun. But it is more expensive and when I use the bro's SX3 there's nothing in it.
barrold
Its the composite Matt, it has a silver barrel and action I looked at the maxus and spoke to some owners, overall they were impressed but said the stock felt hollow and the fore end didn't feel very solid. I suppose its nit picking but i like my guns to feel solid, especially for the foreshore. Plus the price swayed it also.
beeredup
yeah i like mine its the black shadow version and when its clean it cycles anything and i mean anything all the way down to 21g comp-x. It goes bang when i want it to and hasn't gone clunk yet
WinchesterDave
It's a great gun! I'd reccomend it. Never not cycled anything I've put through it.
Cannon
Never had a problem with my SX3. Super gun
Albert 888
No problems with mine. Get a grey or cammo one as the black ones go rusty.
shootingmike
Surely they only go rusty when left wet? I know they won't have the same coatings as the camo and nickel type barrel but still, they won't just rust by themselves will they
Cannon
All SX3's have protective rust preventative coatings as far as I'm aware. You shouldn't leave any gun wet anyway, regardless of what it is or what special coating it has. The common sense approach is to dry them off, clean then lubricate as necessary. If you want a gun to rust on it's own then throw it in the cabinet when you're done without drying it off.
Albert 888
Mine is as clean as a whistle and is the grey version. The black ones have a poor finish and go rusty. When your out in the salt and mud for over 12 hours you will understand.
